A male is refused re-admission to a nightclub. In the presence of 3 police officers the male re-enters the nightclub past the one doorman,he is followed by a female. The doorman goes inside the club with the express purpose of getting the male to leave, anticipating trouble, the 3 officers also enter the nightclub. The doorman and officer A engage the male verbally and request him to leave while officer C remains in the doorway and officer B observes the incident from a few feet away.Meanwhile the female in question approaches and is trying to interene between the parties,it is not clear why,the music is loud and it is difficult to discern what is being said. It is 4am and you are heading home after a night out in the west end (London), you had 1 alcoholic drink and mainly softies most of the evening. You take a short cut through Soho and pass two youths on the street who you notice checking your silver chain/rings out and signal to each other. You carry on walking and without making it obvious make a side glance at the shop windows as you continue walking, you notice they are both following you and catching up with you. Your instinct is that they will probably try and mug you: They will attempt to stop you (ask for the time, for a cigarette, directions etc) or they have contacted some of their friends ahead to intercep…

If you have heard of it - StoppaRed is a UK legal Red UV Spray that can be sprayed on an attacker - What if you found someone had split up a fight with StoppaRed and effectively restrained them and called 999 - Would you class the person who used StoppaRed the attacker rather than a helpful person that just split up a fight? P.S.: Google: "StoppaRed" for more Info.

As we've probably heard, Gary Glitter (Paul Gadd) has returned to the UK after a child sex abuse sentence. The news keeps reporting 'where he will be required to sign the sex offender register'. Is it a daft question, but, are sex offenders required to physically sign the register and further, if so, what would happen, if he (or anyone else) refused point-blank?

Hi guys and gals, Thought I'd ask this after watching some Free Running on YouTube. Say you are patrolling a city centre when some young guys come "free running" through the area. What would your reaction be in the following situations? 1) They are moving quite swiftly through the crowd but causing no obvious disturbance 2) They are moving very quicly through the crowd coming close to other pedestrians / shoppers 3) They are performing very dangerous manouveres (to be taken for granted with free running but assume they are doing extremely long / large jumps) Are they actually committing an offence other than endangering themselves if so what would it be? Don't think …

You are waiting at a bus stop, opposite a T-junction around 11:30pm. A 57 plate freelander comes careering round the corner (out of the T-junction) and at first you think it is going to hit you due to understeer, but the driver bumps up the kerb and winds down the window (hitting the kerb at about 30mph). Two white males are inside the vehicle, both dressed in black and one is wearing a bob hat, the passenger asks you directions for a town which is 3 miles away to the location, and as soon as you give the answer the two fellas (both in their 20s) put their foot down and are gone again. What would you do in this situation? (And i dont mean any heroic warrant card flashes…

A young male comes forward to the police and shows them a string of threatening and aggressive texts from a male and female that he has received on his phone. On asking the male what has provoked these text messages, he explains the following: He and the female had met and expressed an interest in each other; after getting drunk one night they decided to have sex without a condom, as the female insisted she was on the pill. They both established it was just a bit of fun and didn't want to take things further. A few days later the female keeps coming round to the male’s home, accusing him of "using" her, and generally being a neuscence. A few days later he start…

You pull over a vehicle that you seen speeding. When you flash them down the driver pulls over and you get out and walk to the window. Inside are two men. The driver becomes irate and tells you just to give him the ticket as he needs to get to his son. Obviously you want to do this by the book and when the driver realises your detaining him to obtain details etc he assaults you and both men make off while you are down. The driver does not mention his son is in danger but he is acting in an irritated and possibly scared manner. What would you do in this situation? Also presuming the son was genuinely in danger would this be a defence for the assault and speeding? Provid…

You are called to an address by a mother stating that her husband, who she is now seperated from, will not release his young kids back to her after they have been staying with him... On Scene you establish from the mother: Kids are with father for the day, she wan'ts them back home, however the father is refsuing. The kid's are at their Father's house. She is demanding that they return immediatley but will not give an exact reason why. from father: He says that he had previously agreed a set time to spend with his kids with the mother, until now everything had been civil, and he wants to spend as much time with his kids as possible, after the agreed time is up he would…

having read many of these senarios i thought i would lay one down even though i know the answer i am intrigued to see what others think. Lets say that i am out walking my dog along the border line of Scotland and England and that i am just on the scottish border but my dog is on the border line. In fact the dog is running a long the wall which seperates the two countries. As he is running along the wall a huge dog fox comes from the England side and goes to savage my dog, so i pick up a large stone and throwit at the fox and it misses the fox and scares it off unfortunatly it lands on the other side of the wall in England and hits a French man out walking his dog who i co…

A person arrives at the front counter of the police station with a letter from the property officer telling them to reclaim their property. The person presenting the letter has ID and shows it to you and all details match whats on the letter and also they tell you that the property isnt theirs but they shall claim it anyway. Its signed for and off they go with a pair of shoes reclaimed. An hour later another person arrives and asks when he can claim his shoes back from the property office as he has been waiting a week to collect. He shows his ID and the name is exactly the same as the person that collected the shoes earlier but he lives at a different address. You tell h…

Mr A has cameras mounted in his car, in order to help prove liability if he is in an accident. There are small signs saying Cameras are in operation. While driving safely down the motorway, he witness some highly dangerous driving and decides to show the entire journey footage to the Police. Has Mr A committed any offences relating to entrapment - eg, proactively setting up the cameras in order to catch someone out? Would the Police therefore, disregard the footage on that basis? Especially interested to hear from serving officers on this one Edit - an additional question for serving officers - do you ever get fed up with "wannabe police" approaching you with such fo…

Young girl, 13/14 years old gets phone calls from a male on her mobile. The male sounds much older than her, and is making sexual references and other peverse suggestions to her. She tries to ignore it but it happens most of the time. She has no idea why or who would do this. She isnt drastically scared by these calls, just a little un-nerved and concerned. Offences? Assuming through the channels you can trace the caller, is there any real offences, aside from warning under the harrassment act? Also, would she need an ABE interview, or would a statement in presence of mother suffice?

I am very mystified, and a little bit upset and worried. For a matter of months now, things have been thrown at our front window in the evenings. Usually small stones. Every time it happens I go flying out of the front door like a hurricane hoping to catch someone but I never do - it's always totally quiet. The strangest thing is, we have never upset a soul (apart from the grumpy old man across the road, and it sure as anything isn't him :D ) I've even tried waiting down the road in the car to see if I can spot anyone, but they never seem to do it when I'm watching I don't think me being a Special is going to make a blind bit of difference whether I'm warranted or n…
