Was at my local sports club Sunday Having a few non-alco bevvies. I was talk to some old friends I hadnt seen for some time. One of which during the duration of our conversation had 2 pints of cider. I went away and come back to him later where he was about to head home in his car. Im guessing he must have had drinks before i arrived and after i had spoken to him. I asked him if he was driving home and how much he had to drink. After telling me "it was non of my business, copper!" He then told me he was insulted by me questioning his judgement and his integrity. We debated the matter and I eventually told him that i believed him to be over the prescribed limit and that i…

This is a real scenario that happened to me You are on routine patrol when you spot a group of mopeds parked up at an area with a dispersal order on it. Before moving them on you take details and notice one of the bikes isn't displaying L plates (required for this scenario due to riders age) Upon further inspection you notice: There is no tax disc The wires to the horn are dis-connected There are no front indicators The brake light does not illuminate when the rear brake is applied but does for the front The number plate is not of legal size The can does not look road legal but there are no markings on it to state this The front tyre looks low (but tread depth o…

Right, you are walking home from the city centre and you hear a short shout. You turn to your side and notice a guy on the other side of the road beginning to run. He turns up a side street and you see that he is chasing a woman. He catches up to her and grabs her arm, she shouts and pulls her arm away. She continues running up the side street followed closly by the guy. What do you do as an off duty SC and as a MOP? Remember - you dont know anything about the two people (if they are 'together' or related or whatever).

Lets say you were out shopping in Reading when you see a very petit security guard following a scruffy looking old man. While being behind the 2 people you hear the security guard shouting ' You have to wait untill the police arrive'. The man takes no notice and carrys on walking. You speak to the security gaurd and he tells you that the man has stolen a bottle of aftershave. It was at this point a PCSO off duty holds the male and phisicallly moves the males back to the shop where he could wait for police. Now i ask, what would you do as A MOP A Police officer A PCSO A security guard Also when the PCSO identifed his self off duty it looked as if there was a badge…

Mr Brown is having a barbeque. He has ordered a lot of meat and booze from a supermarket to arrive at 9am on the day of the event - as he can't store it all overnight in his freezer. His guests are due to arrive at 1pm. The supermarket contact him and tell him the food is running 2 hours late. Mr oBrown isn't too worried as that still leaves him enough time. However, the food still doesn't turn up and the helpline is very unhelpful - saying that it will be on its way. guests start to arrive, and there is no food or drink! At this point Mr Brown is very angry and upset. He decides to cancel his order and do an emergency trip to the shops. He rings up the supermarket and…

Fictional! You are at a house party with your wifes family. Your sister-in-law has split up with her boyfriend and is at the party. All is going well when the boyfriend turns up demanding to speak to her. there is a history of violence towards her from him I might add. She goes out to speak to him. All is quiet for a while until voices start to become raised. The sister-in-law ( call her jean) starts to shout " get off, you're hurting me!". Obviously, you go out to see whats going on. Police wise, what would you do? Take into account this your family. I think I know the answers, but I'd like to see what everybody else thinks

Ok something else i have been wondering about since i have been offered a position to my chosen force. If there is a mass brawl going on outside a nightclub. what is the overall method of dealing with that and without meaning to make it seem sexist what role would a female special have to partake. Now i know we are no different to other police officers and i am expected to give my all to keep the peace which i would do to my best of my ability but when it comes to very large males kicking each other to oblivion would they take notice of me?

You are staying on a remote campsite with a big group. It's 9pm, A couple of group members are being loud, and the owners come and instruct everyone in the group to leave immediately, no exceptions. For the purpose of the scenario, full refunds are offered. You approach the campsite owner and inform them you can't drive off until morning, because you have had a few beers and you suspect you will be over the prescribed limit. The owner states again that if you don't leave immediately, she will call the Police and report you for trespassing. What would you do, as an Mop in this situation? Also, if called out to this incident as an officer, how would you deal?

SC brown is waiting for the tube on his way to work. It is very crowded and the platform is heaving with people. The train pulls into the station and it is pretty busy. As the doors open several people are trying to get off bu t a woman in front of SC Brown steps onto the train and tries to push her way in. SC Brown takes a hold of her arm and pulls her back gently saying "wait your turn" - she immediately elbows him in the face saying "get off me". What offences, if any, have been committed?

Having booked in a prisoner the custody officer authorises the detention and instructs you to take him to cell 10. So far he has been compliant, but as he is walking to cell 10 he runs into cell 3 (the only female cell on the block) and say's 'You won't get me out of here without a fight'. Right behind you in the queue for custody is an adult female prisoner. What do you do?

You pop into the front counter to find a leaflet that you will need to give someone you are due to see later on when in walk a group of 4 late teen/early 20s males. The SDO deals with their enquiry and as you are there not taking part you can strongly smell canabis and they are the only people in the front counter area. Do you walk around the counter and do a Sec 23 MDA search on them all? Or as they are going to travel to another police station to have their enquiry sorted out do you put up an observation message for traffic to stop their vehicle and do checks? Or do you do nothing? The floor as they say is yours guys.....

You are a late shift in a police van with 8 other officers. You are sitting outside a nightclub that is known to have problems at chucking out time. A double crewed unit calls over the radio for assistance, but they have not used the emergency button and you are the closest unit at 2 mins away the next available unit is 5 mins away. BUT just as you are about to respond to the shout you see two doorman physically escort a drinker out of the club you are watching and you notice that one of them kicks the guy in the stomach while he is on the floor. How would you deal with this situation, knowing full well the other officers need assistance, but at the same time the drin…
