Three young men are sitting in a quiet area of a music festival. They are approached by a group of ten older teenage youths (16-19 year olds). Two of the youths try and provoke a fight and after being told to go away one of the youths grabs a man from the bench he is sitting on and punches him twice in the face. The man after being punched pushed the youth away and draws one of those coloured marker sprays and warns him to 'back off'. The youth backs off, takes the time to see what is in the mans hand and then takes another swing at the man. The coloured marker spray is discharged into the face of the youth, the other youths then run off, and the man on seeing that t…

Reports of people on a school roof. The report is from a couple of poeple looking after some young children in the school, like a creche about 18:00. The 3 ladies are very alarmed as they know people were on the roof as they could hear them - came out as an "I" call. Ended up to be 3 local 13yr old kids, running around the roof with an excuse of fetching their ball (all pitched roofing, no ball seen anywhere!) Not known if there is any damage (not a place for an officer to climb and take a look). I was wondering what offences they had commited and how people would deal with a situation like that. Chopper.

Ok this has happened to me on 3 or 4 occasions now on late turn and day shift. I'll be trying to deal with a witness, a prisoner or something else in the street. A group or a pair of girls will approach us and start shouting sexual inuendos, wolf-whistling or generally just being over-friendly. The favourite appears to be "I like a man in uniform woohoo". Whether they do this because they are bored or for other reasons is beyond me. Although this doesn't stop me and my colleagues from doing our jobs, it can be extremely distracting. Approaching these people and warning them seems to make it worse and drives them to go further. Ignoring them works for a while, by inevi…

Came across a lone female that a MOP was concerned about. She appeared drunk and had cash sticking out of a pocket. As we approached she did appear drunk. English wasn't her first language so communication wasn't easy but she did say she didn't drink or take drugs. Problem . . . . she wouldn't give her name and address or couldn't understand me. My colleague found a passerby that did speak her language and on our behalf did ask her for her name and address but she wouldn't give it. Luckily, we managed to find a phone number on her phone for a relative and she collected her. I was considering arresting her under PACE Section 25 in order to obtain her name and address …

You are on patrol with another officer of the opposite gender (whatever that may be) when you get a report of burglary suspect in your area. You spot the suspect and stop him, planning to search him for the stolen items. The suspect is the same search as you, but wishes to be searched by the other officer. Does the suspect have a choice in the matter? Thanks very much!

Whilst playing a nice game of cricket on a sunday you are in bat waiting for the bowler to bowl and as they do they do a deliberate bouncer which springs up and hits you in the head. You fall over and are knocked unconcious and are taken to hospital where you awaken to find you are pararlysed down one side. Are there any offences commited by the bowler?

You are out on patrol when you see a male pushing a car by himself down a public road, he is outside the car with the drivers door open with one hand on the steering wheel You stop and ask him if he is ok and if he requires any help, he states he is pushing it from one private parking area into a another nearby private parking area so he has more space to work on it in the morning. You have a look at the car and observe the following: 1. No tax disc 2. PNC check reveals no insurance however is registered to the person pushing 3. Persons check reveals he is disqualified 4. He has been drinking What would you do? PS there is NO evidence to state he has been driving …

An elderly man answers his front door to a rather pushy salesman. He listens to as much of the sales pitch as he wants to and then asks the saleman to please leave. THe salesman ignores him and carries on, asking if he could be allowed inside to discuss the finer points of the product/service on offer and places his foot on the threshold of the door. THe elderly man explains that he is not interested and again asks the man to please leave. The salesman ignores the request to leave and old man strikes him on the leg with a heavy wooden truncheon that he keeps next to the door. The salesman stumbles backwards in shock, stands in the front garden swearing at the o…

Ok, so you are in Pizza Hut and have paid to use the buffet, last time I was there you could have a pizza only buffet or a pizza and salad buffet. So, you pay for the pizza only buffet but decide that you would like a little extra sweetcorn from the buffet to go on your pizza. Is this theft?

okay, a person i vaguely know online has spent the past few days talking about how it's not illegal to use a cloned cable modem to get either a faster service or a free service, only a breach of contract terms. can anyone shed some light on this? i'd have thought it was at least some kind of fraud. though, i'm not really "up" on all that stuff yet. he's also pretty much unaware that i'm applying to be a special. if it makes any difference, said person is in scotland, and are not modifying the cable company supplied modem, using one they have bought elsewhere which as been modified for the purposes described above.

You are taking a statement from Witnesses at a crime scene in the High Street, perhaps an assault or something. While taking the statement a drunk MOP (Not connected to the assault) walks past and spits at you intending to hit you but you move out of the way. Would you nick him/her?
