So a couple of years ago Sir Alex Ferguson got off on a charge of speeding and I think using the hard shoulder because he needed the toilet, but if you were following someone well in excess of the speed limit on a dual carriageway or motorway and there excuse was that they desperately needed the toilet, and proceeded to position themselves behind the nearest bush, would you then report them for this as well, or would it be a case of a thorough ticking off, and using the services sooner next time?

Hello, I am a newbie, 16 years old. I am not sure if this is the right forum to post or not but it was suggested by a site. Today I was playing around in my friends house, me and two other friends, we decied to buy ballons and throw them at each other. My friend was filling up the ballns when he threw one outside, there were builders outside who said common have another go, basically he got provoked. We had like 25 ballns, we started to throw them at the pathway, they carried on shouting. We were in a friends house who was doing his work at a mac, so he wasn;t involved. The police turned up after we left, we ddint run away as we were scared, my friends who didnt get…

Here's a little bit of back ground info... Neighbour dispute. Female "accidentally" sprays water on windows of her neighbour. He comes out and swears at her. I put a Sec 5 on and do a community resolution. Offender wasn't in so note was left... The next day, offender has then seen victim and spat at her. The spit did not hit her. The victim states it was more likely a spit of "distaste" rather than to intentionally hit her... The Question: I thereforedon't think I've got an assault, if the victim did not beleive the spit was intent to hit her? Another Question: How about intimidate witness? Would that be easier/ more appropriate crime? Thoughts

You are walking down a busy road when you notice a loud boy racer type car go past, and you also observe 3 females walking in your direction, toward you on the path. The said 'boy racer' car stop next to the 3 girls and engages them in some conversation then drive off. As the girls walk past you, they do not seem distressed but seem a bit weary. As you continue up the road, you observe said vehicle turning around and going in the other direction, and once again stops dead in the middle of the road and tries to engage said 3 girls again, car waits for a while and then drives off again. The car its self is observed skidding to a halt along the road and excessive speed. Yo…

I have a weird one for you all, well weird IMO anyway. To put it simply, is it legal/illegal to WALK through a red light, either at a junction or just a crossing? i.e walking on the road where they may be no footpath, or a small footpath and it's blocked for example. Bit strange i know. Same with zebra crossings i guess. Secondly, what about if you're pushing a bicycle? Not sat on it, and not pedalling, but pushing it e.g it has a puncture. So anyone fancy enlightening me?

Driver drops off passenger in a private car park with signs up displaying this, and as they are about to pull away an unmarked van stops in front of them to prevent them from moving. Driver of the van is employed by a private parking firm who would normally clamp, but as driver is in the vehicle decides to photograph the vehicle and issue a parking ticket for trespass onto private land. Is there an offence to the employee for preventing the driver from entering the public highway?

Hi, Im new to this site. I have my training as a Special starting in September. I was at the NASS festival (extreme sports festival) last weekend and near where i was waiting 2 Police officers stopped and searched a member of public. He then tried to make off and the 2 officers were struggling. One officer had clearly broken his finger during the arrest and the other was bleeding from the face. Should i have tried to help as i had no warrant card (havent even started training yet!) should i have stepped in til other officers had arrived or just acted as an 'expert witness'? Thanks

Would like some opinions on this one please. Male A live in flat A. He has decided he wants to end it all so in an attempt to commit suicide he sets the flat on fire and remains inside. Another resident notices the fire and pulls male A from burning flat. When male A is removed he makes a dash and runs back into burning flat in last ditch attempt at suicide. Police and fire arrive and secure scene and extinguish blaze - male A is saved from blaze and place into police custody! Offences?

Percy the PCSO really wants to be a police officer; it's all he ever wanted since being a kid. He joined as a PCSO because he was lead to believe that it was a "way in" to the police. He's had an application ongoing with the Met but has been told that his application won't be processed for another 97 1/2 years because of funding problems. In the meantime he's told all his mates and family that he's going to be a policeman in 2010. He's understandably crestfallen and feels slightly embarassed about telling his mate's that he's not, in fact, a police officer. He feels a bit silly because he told everyone that he was starting as a Police officer in April 2010. However, it's …

Scenario 1 You see a Moped Rider going down the road, displaying L Plates, not driving like an idiot, looks about 16 years old. He is not breaking the speed limit, yet he is going down a '40 MPH' road. He could be riding a De-Restricted 50cc Moped.. Do you stop him and question him? Do you do nothing? If you stopped him what would you do/say? What action would you take? SCENARIO 2 You see a Moped Rider going down the road, displaying L Plates, not driving like an idiot, looks about 16 years old. He is not breaking the speed limit, yet he is going down a '40 MPH' road. He could be riding a De-Restricted 50cc Moped.. You Stop Him, Question Him. He has a Provisional …

You're sleeping in the park, enjoying the current spell of hot weather when I sneak up on you and attach a small bicycle D-lock around your ankle in such a way that it can't be removed without the key. With careful positioning I manage to attach the lock without touching you (including with the lock) or disturbing your sleep. Later on, you awake from your sleep and discover the lock but no key. I was trying to work out what offences I'd commit in the above scenario, but the best I could muster was S.5 POA -at a stretch I suppose it might be S4. Can anyone think of anything better?

So here is the scenario: You lived in your parents house for years with drug dealer living two doors up. He is taken to prision never to be heard of again. You then leave your folks house and get your own pad, But you visit your folks alot and everytime you visit you parents complain about how many vistors that house is getting all times of the day and differnet people only staying for no longer than 5 mins. You've seen the 18 year old kid changed his car couple of times in the last year from a Clapped out Nova to a swanky 2009 BMW sport and then to a 5 series BMW 2008 reg. So you think his son is now taken over is dealing aspect. Would you ask your folks to gather Nu…
