Hi there you guys, My name is Dan and I'm very happy to finally make myself a profile on this fine website. I guess I better tell you a bit more about myself. I'm currently in Sixth form studying English Lit, History, Politics and RP&E (religion philosophy and ethics). I live in deepest darkest rural Devon (ooh arr!) and I've always had an interest in the Police force. In the last few years I've been looking at various career options in the Police and really just been trying to research all the different aspects of the Police. Living in the middle of nowhere (not fun, I can assure you) I've never really had much contact with the police. I can't remember the last t…

Hi everyone, I've been lurking around for a while and decided today to register and hope that I'll be around for a lot longer now! I've applied to join the Met as a Comms Officer. I've passed paper sift & the a/c. I am now waiting on my interview date which I've been told will be October. I am incredibly excited to be doing this and REALLY nervous about the process. Fingers crossed I get in!! So happy to have found this really useful forum too. Hope to speak to many of you again soon!

Just wanted to say hey - I joined earlier in the year for tips on my application. Unfortunately I failed in June, so I'm currently twiddling my thumbs, trying to keep fit and waiting for 6 months to pass by Does anybody have any tips for re-applying? Does it make any difference whether I reapply to the same force or try another. I would prefer to re-apply to Fife, as it's where I live and the officers I've spoken to speak highly about working here, but I've heard it's harder to get in - although not sure why as it appears that they all have the same selection process. I wondered whether they would look more favourably on a re-application, as hopefully it shows patience…

Hi Everyone, I have just finished of my Special Constable applicaition! So will hopefully get that sent off today. Have been want to apply to the police force since I was 14 (now 19). After spending the past 2 years working as a website developer I have decided it is time to start the application process. I want to apply to South Wales Police, but they are not accepting applications at the moment so becoming a Special seems like a great way to sample the Job first. I have set up a site. http://www.boyinblue.co.uk to document my applicaiton progress so that in the next few years it will become a good resource for people looking to do the same as me. oh yes... Hi!

Hi All, Firstly thanks for this forum and the tips, it has really helped me a lot throughout the whole recruitment process for the Met. My timeline: Feb 1st - Attended Event at Trafalgar Sq Mid March - Application received, completed and sent back June 15th - Day 1 July 21st - Day 2 All passed - now just in the waiting stage I have no idea when training will start, to be honest I’m not really bothered when I start training, I have a job at the moment and I’m just happy and proud that I passed Day 1 and Day 2 and am really looking forward to starting a new career with the Met..... :-)

Hello all, I just thought I'd introduce myself. My name is Shaun, I'm 22 years old and I've just finished a degree in Criminology and Contemporary Culture from MMU university. I've applied for the role of PCSO in the GMP and have passed the assessment day/interview so now I'm just waiting for the medical. I've set down for South Manchester, Central and Tameside in that order. So, hi!

I registered here a bit ago, but never did the whole introduction thing so... I'm from the US, been to the UK once and loved it. Got to go on a few ride-alongs with the Met while I was there, which was a blast. You do things so differently from us. In the process of becoming a trooper for the Nebraska State Patrol (waiting to see if I have a conditional offer of employment). I live in Pennsylvania at the moment and am an intern at a local PD and my dad is a trooper with the Pennsylvania State Police so policing is in my blood. I find the differences in how we do things and you do things across the pond fascinating so that's why I'm here.
