Hello everyone, I am from Hampshire and although not a traffic officer I have a pet hate for minor infringements by other road users, mainly because they are just so annoying that you can't really do anything about them.Anyway, that may give you a little idea about me and I look forward to seeing what the site can offer.

Just wanted to say hello to everyone on the forum. I'm currently a Police Cadet in the Metropolitan Police and looking forward to furthering my police career as a PC (once I finish the cadets). I'm eagerly looking around the forum boards and taking in as much information as I can for when I apply to become a police officer in the next few years. My Sergeant said being in the cadets is possibly the best thing you can do if you are going to apply to become a police officer as it covers the application process and the assessment center so when I come to applying I should be fine. Anyway, I hope to converse with everyone on the forum and any tips on becoming a police officer…

Hello everyone, I've done a couple of odd posts here and there today and thought it about time I'd come and say hello. I'm part of the 'waiting for a start date with West Midlands' gang, saw this site and thought it was great with everyone keeping eachother updated. I hope I can do my fair share of it too. Thank you, look forward to posting!! Lucy

....they change everything! I don't know if the management have changed but hello to all anyway. Some names are familiar - mine may not be. Joined when I first took up this post with Support Staff. I work with...ah...'more-lethal means'. Have to take a long walk around this place, to get used to it. Scott, are you still here?

Hi All, Just wanted to drop in and say I've finally got round to registering on the site, been lurking for a while absorbing the great advice from those who has gone through the process of applying and those already in the job. Had a list nearly 1/2 an A4 page long of things to check up on before applying and now have it down to 1 or 2 outstanding things to check and run by recruitment. Its probably a daft one to raise given there are a million threads on the subject but here goes. At present i have 1 active default on my credit file and 1 satisfied. I have contacted the company with the active default and asked if they would wipe it as part of a payment plan i have su…

Hi all, I have been interested in joining the police for a long time now and have decided to go for it this year. I have alot of worries though, ill get on to them later though, im here to get as much advice and a head start as I can to help me get in, ie... preparation. My worries are that there are aspects of my life that may hinder me being able to join, ill go through them and would greatly appreciate some feedback. Ill go through my background first, I served with the Army for eight and a half years (this is also a worry as someone recruiting may look at soldiers as agressive or instatutionalised) in the Parachute regiment, I went to Northern Ireland, Afghanistan,…

Hey everyone, I'm Lee Well obviously im new on here so I may as well use this opportunity to introduce myself. Im 19 (turning 20 soon) and live in Central Scotland. I have been very keen and enthusiastic on joining the police force for the past year. I've considered it's something I really want to do and go ahead with in the very near future. I left school at the end of 5th year which was back in 2007 and went on to retail for around 3 months until i got accepted into college. I was at college for a year and was finished by mid 2008 and got a job in Security. I was involved in event security such as doing the weekends at football grounds. I did that for over a year and h…

Hi, I'm new here and will be around for quite some time! I've got two years from now before I can apply for Strathclyde Police Service. http://www.ukpoliceonline.co.uk/index.php?...c=40051&hl= Now those two years to me seem like a LONG time, but I want to make the most of it. I'm starting the gym on Monday coming and I am looking into martial arts to apply a discipline to myself. Also, I want to attend my local Sheriff court on a regular basis to see how it all works. I am an avid car fan, primarily german cars! I'm not saying which brand :-) I'm also really into my photography and use a Canon 30D until I can afford a 5D MkII :-) If that makes sense to anyone.…

Hello all, my name is Martin, I'm 19 years old and am very interested in a career in the police. I have recently finished 6th form, and am currently in my gap year, after which I will either study or try go straight into a job (most likely the police force). If I do study however, then I want my subject to be relevant and useful for a career either within the police force itself, or the legal system. I have quite a lot of questions, but my main queries focus on the criminal investigation work. A job within CID would be fantastic, however I still don't know enough about it in general. Thanks loads in advance to whoever helps me, and I look forward to many entertaining …
