Hi, I'm currently a member or prisoner of a H.O Force, lol! I am wanting to transfer to the MDP but take an anti-depressant. I have the full support of my Dr and have always wanted to join the MDP! My questions are as follows; do they directly ask about depression at the medical!? Do I have to take a pre-medical form to my Dr!? Do I stand a chance!? I know that I obligated to disclose any medical questions but the devil is in the detail!!

After withdrawing from the process at the beginning of the year, circumstance now allow me to apply again! So application sent (transferring SEARCH scores) and back in the process! I have been looking at all sorts of options for housing and accommodation in the Aldermaston/Reading areas and not really getting very far. Been on all sorts of sites that offer accommodation and a place to stay and as I am not really planning to move permanently (due to the possibility of being moved after probation if things go my way) I don't seem to be finding any decent places. Cant say I'm too fussed on locations, however looking more for a good price on rent. Anyone with a bit of loca…

The Defence Police Federation has advised potential recruits not to join the MDP. Basically the MOD has made very significant and draconian changes to new recruits contracts, and sneaked them in. They are taking advantage of job seekers naivity to completely screw them over. Under this new contract as a new MDP officer you will be paid vastly less than your already serving MDP colleagues, will have to work longer hours, harder and with less emplyment rights and with a now worthless pension you wont see until you are 68-70. You will also have no parity with the HDPF which means you will not be able to transfer to a HDPF force, ever! You might want to rethink your a…

Does anyone know (ideally current serving officers) if the annual leave advertised is done in whole days or hours. For example i should have 25 days leave but thats actually based on 8hr shifts so its done as 200hours. Since i do mainly 10hr shifts thats really only 20 days leave and not 25. Is the MDP like this as well?

Just found this employment tribunal ruling from 2013: http://www.employmentcasesupdate.co.uk/site.aspx?i=ed16667 In essence, a Redbridge Parks Police 'SGT' allegedly racially discriminated against a constable. The constable resigned claiming 'constructive dismissal'. The 'SGT' also resigned and then also claimed 'constructive dismissal'. Ironically, both found them themselves up against the council on the same side. An earlier tribunal ruled that, as they were not police officers, they could pursue claims of unfair dismissal, like any other council employee. Redbridge council appealed and won. The appeal ruled in favour of the council: parks constabulary officers are '…
