Specials Information Evening (online) - what to expect?
by Wikicop20 +- 1 follower

Does anyone have any further information on what to expect from an online webinar I am going to attend? If so, any insight would be valued. Thank you. The information evening gives you the chance to find out first-hand what it is like to be a special constable and you are encouraged to ask as many questions as you like. At the end of the evening, you will understand: • the role of a special constable • what is involved in the recruitment process and training • the duties and responsibilities of being a special constable and our expectations of you. Attendance at the information evening is mandatory.

SC pre-joining preparation to-do-list: advice

Hello. I aim to join Wiltshire Special Constabulary when recruitment opens next (mid 2020). My preparation list so far is: 1. Fitness - bleep tests to min 5.5, aim for higher. 2. Core Competencies (College of Policing). 3. Wiltshire Police - Force information and history. 4. Role of a SC. Any particular additions or removals recommended by any one, particular Wilts users? I work full time and volunteer, so this preparing would be in between that. Thanks, fbo194.

The Special Constabulary is a vital and integral part of delivering safe, satisfied and confident communities. Becoming a Special Constable is not to be taken lightly - being first on the scene of a road traffic accident, delivering unwelcome news, making an arrest or dealing with Friday night revellers takes skill, knowledge and above all, character. Yet teachers, bus drivers, management consultants and postal workers regularly fulfil this vital community service and for no financial gain. Special Constables work alongside regular officers and Police Community Support Officers (PCSOs), either as an integral part of the Neighbourhood Police Teams (NPTs) or on one of …

I am looking for some advice as my application with wiltshire police has been accepted and I am taking the PIRT next week. I have been looking through the How to pass the PIRT book and I am having no problems with most of it apart from the numerical reasoning part of things(mainly percentages) . I was just wondering how much of the test is made up of maths and if you are given a calculator (The book says no but I have seen posts on other websites that say yes)
