hi, anybody on the march training course fancy getting together as a group for a social? so we know each other prior to us starting training? any takers, (i already know of 2) fancy it, if they could send me a pm with there dates free, timing suggestions and contact details so i can inform you of the time and place. if we have a meeting before, i think everyone will feel more at ease and confident about our first training night. also, we could share any concerns/questions we have with each other. regards calum

Hello, I've applied for this Febuarys intake and have a few questions, was wondering if you could help me out here; The other thread said that there were ten places available, and i was wondering around how many people normally apply? Will there be much competition? Also, if successful (fingers crossed), i would eventually like to join the regulars, is there a normal set of time that people spend in the specials before applying? Hi everyone wondering if you could clear some things up for me. My mate is applying for the regs in Strathclyde and was wondering about the credit check?! Does anyone know what this involves or if you know what they are looking for - my mates credit aint too bad though there is missed payments on something's and he has alot of credit card's.. I know they credit scored my applicatiuon when I aplpied for the specials and came back all OK.. Just wondering what info they looking for on it......

Hello folks.. This thread isn't much different to the thread prior but maybe i'll receive some extra feedback..! Next Monday - Final Interview..! Just looking for a wee guide as to how it differ's from the initial interview? I was really confident going into my first interview but for some reason I seem a wee bit more concerned about the upcoming one?! Hiya . Could someone please tell me what the fitness test for joining the northern speacials is? Ive heard that its a bleep test. If so would anyone be able to tell me what the pass level is for a 21 yr old female? Thanks Holly

Hi all. Just a quick topic to get your views on this. As far as Im aware, forces down south operate pro-active special units where they patrol local hot spots and offer assistance to local crews. Ive asked Donna at HQ and she said she would bring it up at the next monthly specials meeting. If this were available in our area, would anyone be willing to offer their services? I know I would.

Hello everyone, i have my initial interview next week, and have been revising, but can anyone tell me what i am likely to be asked?

AND I PASSED!!!!!!!!!!! Yey! it was a fab, they were so nice, felt more like a conversation than an interview. They asked me at the end how i thought i had done - i said alright, then they said you've done really well, you've passed. Also that it was a nice suprise to talk to someone that knew what they were talking about, as the previous interviews that day had not been good. :D :D :D

Hey guys, Im totally ready for it - I think lol! Feeling confident, although i know i'll be a shivering wreck tomorrow and very tired, barely slept last night, never mind tonight! Know all my notes off by heart. Went to visit the station last night and talk to some specials and regs while they had there tea, all very helpful and good fun. Hi guys is anyone waiting to hear back for the march intake? i passed interview and medical before Christmas and am aware of people having received start dates in march (im yet to hear back ) anyone else waiting like me?? Alan

Quick question for Tayside specials. Near the end of training you have a session of practical/inspections and test, does anyone know have the specifics as to what this day will involve? Thanks in advance. Joe
