Are the officers shown in the compol teams within each sub-division the officers you will patrol with?

hi guys and girls, just to let anybody know who is starting the training this tuesday, we are having another meeting/drink/meal so as to get to know one another. this post is mainly for those who have recently joined the forum or has just heard about acceptance as those we know about are already coming. we are meeting at the dundee train station at 7 on sunday. then going onto the place. if anyone from perth wants to come, a lift is available. just pm me if required. look forward to seeing new people (hopefully) calum

At our gaff the last 3 or 4 cars have been silver in colour rather than white. I,ve been told this is to do with a re-sale value and also easier to keep/ look clean. We have still been getting white cell and people carriers, but it looks like for the panda car white will fizzle out. I know a cars a car, just looking for any thoughts. For the record I quite like the silver!

Anyone give their experience of the forces view on mistakes made in the past with regards application for the specials? For mistakes I mean breaking the law, not written mistakes lol. I have a few speeding and parking tickets, a couple of other things. I dont class them as serious, i.e (things like theft,drugs,assault) so is it a zero approach?

Got my acceptance letter throught the other day, and I'm having my uniform fitted on Wednesday at 11am! hi all can anyone help me out? i got to initial interview stage with regs and was unsucesful so i applied to specials on 30th dec and recieved letter this morning saying they are unable to offer me an appointment does anyone have any ideas where i went wrong. any comments grateful thanks

:D These fellas arent to keen on replying to emails in a hurry are they? Just wondering if the email stated on the Tayside webstie is active, Has anyone used it effectivley ? As in got replies... and comunication, Sent some queries that i would like to have got nswered Asap three or four days ago.... was expecting a next day reply, or am i just checking my emails/replying to people faster than the Norm ? Any info welcomed.

Hi guys n gals, Pleased to say that I received my letter calling me for interview next Thursday after work! I should add that I received a letter from Tesco asking for my national insurance number as they need to confirm with Strathclyde Police when I worked for them. Given that the police obviously don't have this info yet but nevertheless have invited me to an interview, could this indicate that they are perhaps hoping to squeeze me into the March intake or am I reading too much into it? Hey all. Just wondered if anyone who has recently been through the recruitment process for Specials could advise me. Do you know how L and B test Specials applicants to see if they are 'physically fit' for the job? Is there treadmills or anyting like that? Or is it just a fill in form process? Right I know you need a driving licence to be eligible to join the Strathclyde force and as I've just turned 18 and finished school not so long ago I'm only doing lessons at the moment. I was just wondering if I was to send away an application form tomorrow how long would it take for me to present a full driving licence? Thanks.

Is there eany way's that you can give your self a better chance when it comes to applying for the specials? like past work place ext. are school grades an isue ive left i am 16 and am looking for a job until i can join the force and hopefully make a better comunity? all help would be good thank you

Hi there, i know there are loads of interview tips on this site and they are fantastic, i feel a bit daft asking this question, but when i was visiting my local station the probationer i spoke to talked me through the 6 training areas and said that there is more info on these on the tulliallan website, however iv been unable to find it ( i actually find the website for tulli to be quite hard to navigate around and i work in I.T :$). So anyway iv got my interview a week today(wed), iv covered the training, why i want to be a policeman, know how to handle the scenario questions and know about my division (L.A division), is there anything else anyone can suggest? Hey, I have my uniform fitting in a couple of weeks and was just wandering if there is anything specific I need to wear or take with me e.g boots?!?! Hey went for my initial interview and have been asked back for my medical. Does anyone know what this consists of and do they do (if at all) the fitness test at the same time? Any replies would be most appreciated cheers migmog
