Hi all How do you prepare for the interview. I haven't got that far yet, but want to start preparing now, just in case. I've found a lot of material to study - but don't know where to start or what is relevant for interview stage. Any advice? T

Hi guys I felt I had to update those who are waiting on their stab vests since I went to stores today (incase you didn't know). They are being collected by someone in your division and you should get them soon, depending on when they pick them up. The only reason they gave me mine is because a temporary receptionist told me over the phone to go in and get it. They look a lot better than the old ones! Worth the wait in a way (I'll probably speak for myself). Got my first proper shift tomorrow morning so i'm well looking forward to it!

Im new and only 16 but really interested in either joining the specials or regs but i have something on my mind. Does Strathclyde operate a fast track policy from special to reg? if yes then what do you miss? I would like to think you could miss out the SET and the interviews, Re-do the fitness and medical and miss a chuck of the training. I'm weighing up my options for my career and since i was five the police has been top choice. Any tips on things to do while i am 16/17 in November? I'm planning on doing Community Involvement in 6th Year and look to volunteer to St. Andrews Ambulance and plan on getting a customer based job. Anything else anyone could recommend? An…

hey guys and gals, having never made it to the sunday sessions for eq and diversity i picked up my uniform during the week there. I know we have to wear shorts and t shirts etc on sunday and bring our uniform and all other kit with us. What im wanting to know is, obv there is a wee bit of ironing to be done tonight for tommorow. Are we to iron our white shirts and bring them in a condition to wear or is it black wicker top and trousers for tomoz which is what everyone else seems to wear up there. Any help would be much appreciated as it would mean one less piece of clothing to iron. Hope we are all doing good and our boots are nice and shinny

Howdy peeps, I start Basic on the 18th May in the regs. Whats the deal with the three week holiday from End of June to middle of July? 1. It's annoying because we will all just be getting into the swing of things. 2. What happens with Pay and Holiday entitlement, as there wont be enough for 3 weeks paid But I cant afford to have my wages docked as have Mortgage to pay etc I have lost £600 cancelling my summer holidays to start so I am hoping I dint have to make any more financial sacrifices, my pockets cant take it. Any info on this and anythig related would be appreciated. Regards, Scott

hey guys, know its early to be asking this question but how did you find your first day at your new station. The general advice i have been getting is to listen lots and get to know your team. Every officer i have spoken to has given me this advice. So i was just wondering what sort of reaction you all got on your first day, did it take a while to gain there trust and get to know the other members of your team or did it take a lot of shifts?

Hi, i am new to this forum, so i apologise if this is posted in the wrong place. On Tuesday 21st of April, i got a taxi from my house to a party in another house locally. At about 3am me and a friend decided to walk back to my house to continue drinking.(bypassing his house on the way) We were playing music pretty loud and i decided to retrieve some cd's from my car, my friend joined me in the car and we sifted through my cd collection lookin for something good to listen to. While we were in the car a neighbour contacted the Police about the noise, i was brethalised and found to be 4 times over the limit, i was charged with being in charge of a vehicle while under the …

I have just received a text message from a friend asking the best way to commit suicide, she has had a lot of personal problems and i believe it to be genuine. i have warned her if she stops textin me for at least 10 minutes i will be sending an ambulance to her house. What can i do about this, if i send an ambulance and she is perfectly fine, i will have been wasting there time, but the texts are getting more few and far between .

Morning one and all, My local pub has just been refurbished and a new sound sytem has been put in to play music etc. I know the pub proprieter quite well and has asked me for advice regrding sound pressure levels as he had a complaint from a neighbour across the street, however it turned out it was a vehicle sitting there blasting music. He wants to keep himself right and Im wondering what the legal noise limit is for inside a pub is it 80dB? I ll do a risk assessment so he can keep a bit of paper to say he has looked at the risk. to help him out I intend to get an SPL meter (Sound pressure level) to get the maximum legal volume then mark that on the amplifier.....but …

Hi all, I am looking to go into the police force but I have an IN10 from 3 years ago on my driving licence. How big a problem is this going to be?? I got my 6 points which come off in a couple months and I read that because this is considered a serious offence I would get my app rejected. Can anyone shed some light on this for me please. Thanks Mike
