I've been hunting around this forum for information on what Regular police officers are taking home each month after their monthly reductions? I'm having a hard time at the moment deciding what I'm wanting to do with myself for a career and am just wanting to know what the pay is like? Would appreciate any information, if you want to keep it private feel free to PM me. Cheers, Scott.

Afternoon special peeps, how did your first shift go? Where are you going all planning to work from. I was Lochee on Friday (For the change) and found it difficult to get a radio due to the amount of Specials out!

Hi i recently attended an interview for the Specials within Strathclyde Police. I met a very attractive and intelligent girl named Dani on this day (20/5) just before the interview. She was attending for her final for the regs. I was going to ask her for her number so we could keep in touch and possibly meet again but before i could do she was taken for her interview by a Chief Inspector. I am interested in hearing how you feel after the interview. Also i would like to meet up if you are interested. If you are this person please get in touch. Hope to hear from you again. Best Regards Gary

hey guys and galls, not sure if this has been done yet or not but who is all up for a big night out. I think after having been up at jackton for a couple of weeks (or in my case 1) how about we all organise a wee night out and maybe bring along all the wonderfull people we have met on the course. who is up for it? once we get a rough idea of numbers we can start pm messaging to arrange a place date and time for a night out.

I'm currently just starting the Specials 12 week training course and begging to think what station would suit me when I have finished the course. It would be much appreciated if I could get some general feedback about some of the station, and what station would be best suited for a SPC. For example, how busy the station is and how valued is a Special at your station. At the moment, Stirling, Alloa and Bridge of Allan are stations that I am considering... any thoughts on other stations? Thanks

Hi Guys, Thats me been invitied to an initial interview with the force as a Special Constable In respect of the Initial Interview, it is a one-2-one with a member of Recruitment Team, during which we are looking to establish that the applicant has researched both the Force Structure (Force Executive, Divisions, Divisional Commanders, Force Objectives through Policing Plan, local & Force policing problems, shift system) & role of a Special police constable, likely daily duties, the good, the bad & pure mundane..... Website, visit to police station(s), contact with police officers, (community officer, probationer, sergeant if possible) also on…

I was in a decent paid job before i went full time with the police and saw the specials as a way to gauge if the police was the job for me , i know some do it to give to the community and iv met some that use it merely as a stepping stone and swiftly leave when they find out its not! what were/are you resons for joining ? Be honest ! . . . . . . . . . .

Hi All, This will have been circulated around the stations, but I know that quite a few Specials are not in very much, so may miss out on this info. If you have ANY of the WHITE gloves in your pockets for when you are on duty, dispose of them and take the BLUE gloves. Like me, you all probably grab a handful when you are at the station to take back out with you on the street for doing person searches etc, or for when using your bare hands is not a wise idea, well just to let you know that they should no longer be used. I wont go in to all the details as this is a very public site, but just remember to bin your WHITES and take the BLUES! Thanks P
