Hello am now waiting to do my set/and fitness 14 April fingers crossed,anyone heading there same day.

I've recently started as a Special Constable. I'm very interested to find out how the grievance procedure ties in with unfair unfavourable appraisals. Say (for example) it is one person's word against the other and a performance note is submitted; it doesn't seem very fair to submit a performance note without investigation. If (again, for example) this happened, how would the grievance procedure tie in?

Firstly this may be a bit personal, but there is a fair whack of new specials starting in March as the site has witnessed. Who plans to use this as a guide into full time, who doesnt, what other reasons are behind joining the SC? Just curious.

Hi all, Just before I make a clown of myself asking at the station, can anyone tell me what the process is if you need new items of uniform? I have been trying to lose weight as my BMI was out when I applied for the Regulars. I joined the Specials last September but since then I have lost some weight & could do with a smaller waist size in trousers. Is it just a case of phoning the Uniform Department & arranging a re-fit or would I do it through Jackton or my local office? Sorry for the stupid questions but I am prepared to take one for the team should anyone else have similar problems. Cheers & thanks for your time. Scott

Hiya, Two years ago I applied for a special position, unfortuantley it was refused, when I wrote and asked why I just got a letter telling me "The cheif constable reserves the right ot reject applications without reasons", and I found out after some questions it was due to vetting. Has anyone else had this issue before, and what can cause it? I know one of the companies I worked for disagreed with one of the dates I finished (it was out by a month), is this a possible reason? I want to re-apply but want to do everything possible to make sure I don't get knocked back before the interview process again due to vetting :| Any help would be apprechiated! Thanks mitch

Ok, don't know about everyone else but during my interview I was asked what I am looking forward to when working as a special and what I see the negatives as being. This is open to applicants, those in the March/September intake and current specials alike. If you're not yet serving, what is the ONE thing that you're looking forward to most about the job and what is the one thing you dread most?
