Hi, Just a quick question about the interview. I completed an online application for Special Constabulary this March and have been invited for an interview this Wednesday at Southwick. I read somewhere that you are given questions beforehand and you prepare answers. In the interview guide I received in my email it mentions the four competencies I will be assessed on and it says to prepare more than one example for each competency but has no specific questions. I was just wondering if anyone has had an interview recently and could let me know if they had the same interview guidelines or if you received accompanying questions. Hey guys, it seems I've got through the vetting procedure and am on to a medical. I was involved in a rtc on wednesday and am not sure if my car will be written off. I have to travel about an hour to the medical screening and my only certain mode of transport is a motorcycle. Are they expecting suit and tie for this event? I don't mind as I can wear leathers on top but it would be handy if I didn't have to. Hopefully my car will be deemed road worthy enough to drive down as it will be easier with satnav etc. Cheers! I've always thought that the fitness test was before the medical but I've not had a date through for the fitness, yet have for my medical.. Not an issue but curious whether anyone else had it this way round?

Hey guys, just a quick question. I got my email inviting me to interview and have spoken to my boss about it. He said if I start wanting time off for training he'll just find someone else. Needless to say this was a big kick in the teeth for me, I've wanted to become a special for over a year and now he says this. So basically I'm just wondering how much training is involved outside of my local station? I'm applying for Northumbria Police and live in Berwick upon Tweed so HQ is a good hour and a half away. I'm pleased they have the interviews at 5:30 as it gives me a bit of leeway for half days etc but I'm still worried about getting sacked. I work 9-5, 6 days a week s…

Hi all, Can anyone clarify the current recruitment process stages in the order that they take place? From reading things from different places there seems to be an inconsistency with regards to what happens when. Having filled my application in, I'm just looking for some insight into how things work with NorPol before sending. Would also be nice to know how long, approximately, each of the stages took you to get a response? I know it can vary. Thanks! :-)

Just received news that I've passed my vetting and I am now a part of Northumbria police's special constabulary. Training starts in January and I really can't wait to start, is anyone else starting on the January sessions?

Hi, I passed my medical this morning, so what's the next step in the process, or is the next step the training? And also, does anyone know of an approximate date/month I will commence training now I have passed both medical and fitness tests? Thanks!

Hi Guys, im not sure whether this topic has been brought up, ive had a look and couldnt really see it. I am going for my interview for Special Constable soon, and as i read through the application process i noticed the Financial Vetting part. I have some debt, 1 loan and car finance after losing my job last year however i have them under full control. Will this affect me much? Any help would be great
