Northumbria Police

I have read the frankly appalling news that a new PC will be starting on £19000 a year, but have heard that SC's and PCSO's will be able to start around the 22 grand mark due to their prior experience. If this is the case, then what forces, if any, will be opening up these brand new 19k positions? Unless this is in regards to the Met Police recruitment programme then surely these new implementations won't come into force for some time.

Hi all, I guess this applies to all Specials with the monitoring of attendance becoming more stringent. My Sergeant told me I needed to email the resource co-ordinator a week in advance but I don't know the exact email address I need to send confirmation of my shifts to. Anyone know? Thanks.

So who's applying? I haven't seen the form yet, I'll be calling into the nick after work to get it started tomorrow. From the email I'm left feeling somewhat naffed off. As far as I can tell we are required to complete an application as a civilian would, which is abit insulting really. For us WARRANTED officers it should be a case of an interview, medical and fitness, rather than the whole process, CSOs and staff should have to do the whole lot!

Morning all, I have got my interview and fitness test on the 20th Nov, just after some advice. - In my email it says that the interview will be 4 competency questions which are Respect for Race and Diversity Resilience & Problem Solving Effective Communication Customer & Community Focus These are the same competency questions that were in the online application, so could I use my online ones and elaborate on those (as I feel they were really strong examples) or should I come up with new ones? - Also the bleep test (5.4) how hard is this.... Hello everyone! I'm brand new to this website, I just found it while poking around in google. I sent off my fourth Special Constable application 10 days ago, and after a friend of mine (a PC who recently passed his probationary period) looked over my application he told me I'd have a good chance of getting to the next stage. Evening all-- I was just wondering if anybody here currently has an application in for a special constable? If so, have you guys waited very long to hear anything back yet?

So i had my uniform fitting last friday and was issued with an old/current vest and was meassure for a new one rumoured to arrive in august. Basically whilt out on the street i have noticed northumbria officers wearing different vest to myself...... basically the vest i have has 2 clips near each breast for a radio howver i have noticed officers wearing vest where they have their cuffs and cs spray attached at the abdomen area. am i correct in thinking the ones with the clips for the cuffs etc are for the female officers as i have only seen 2 female officers wearing them and havent seen and male officers with them on ??? or are they infact the new ones ??? Hello all I am literally brand new to this. I actually applied to be a SC last year but unfortunately my application wasnt accepted But I want it so much! I am therefore going to apply again however I was wondering if any of you guys have any hints and tips about what to do and what not to do on the application form. Hello all, Pleased to say I am finally starting training in June starting the weekend of the 9th and going over the 6 weeks. I am getting my uniform on May 29th and attending a session at Ponteland HQ on June 6th. Anyone else going to be here on those dates? Look forward to meeting some new faces.
