In my opinion the cuffs that we have at the moment are very outdated and not upto the task of modern policing, we have had the same handcuffs since the late 80s early 90s. also because i have bigger hands then some it is difficult to grab the spacer between the cuffs when controling your typical friday night idiot. also as they fold in the centre they still have some movment that could be used to assault me or my collegues. that is why i think rigid cuffs should be issued in northants as i belive you can control people better with them, although could be worse...... surrey still has chain linked ones !!! lol. anyone have any thoughts or experienced the same problems…

Recently I have met several of our OTU colleuges and noticed that they all wear black equipment vests which look considerably better made and more durable than our high vis ones. I understand that they are for a specific role but they look more professional then the high vis vests and are easier to be kept clean and maintained. The force had a all black uniform a few years ago and I wonder with this new PCC there is a chance new uniform will be discussed. I appreciate SCT officers need to be visible but response officers need something lasting and durable and I don't believe the high vis vests provide that Anyone got any info on the subject ????? Oh and apologie…

Ladies and gentlemen It has come to attention that a police dog in northamptonshire has to finish his service early. The police dog owner is looking to rehome the dog ( called Bolt) into a new home within northants area. Bolt is very good with kids over 5 but the dog owner will be meeting you and inspecting the house to which he will live, quite understandable if you ask me If anyone can help then email matt.baker@northants.pnn.police.uk or if your on twitter northantspoldog. Genuine cases only. If you want a police dog and you can offer a happy home then get in touch.
