Northamptonshire Police

Hi all, I'm quite new to this, so please bear with me. I have applied to join Northamptonshire Specials, and the website states part of the assessment centre is an observation exercise. Could anyone give me any idea what this entails? Cheers!

Mods, is these needs to go somewhere else, please move it and forgive my lack of knowledge So, my question is, I just passed my telephone interview, whats next? I am completely ingnorant of the Specials Process here as I am actually an American. The way we did LE selection in America is similar, but definitely different. I am awaiting a call from my recruiting advisor, but I like to be proactive. Are there certain written tests I will be taking that I should be studying for? Any insight into this would be greatly appreciated. While I have years of LE background and experience, not much will apply over here in regards to law. Note: Before anyone jumps on the "you'…

Good Afternoon everyone, I am not sure what they call it these day's use to be IRT when i was a special in Northants. Currently a regular in another force and i understand that Northants aren't currently open for transferees but was just wandering if anyone knew what the current shift pattern is? Thank you

I am due to start training as a PC on the 1st September - I'm already counting down the days....hours.....minutes!! :-D I know that there is at least one other member on here that is starting at the same time - anyone else? Hello, Now we have been issued our nice shiny new kit I thought it might be an idea to buy a kit bag and also the long handcuff key that I hear so much about. Question... Any recommendations? Best/cheapest place to buy such items from? Also, at the risk of sounding odd do I need to consider anything specific to keep my hat in? Sharing my home with some furry friends I don't know about the gents but the female hat seems prone to attracting hair of the feline variety! Thanks

Hey there class of 2013...this post is targeted at those of us who attested back at the end of June this year, how are we getting along? Are we still enjoying Specialing for Northamptonshire Police? Are we appreciated by our home station? Are we getting in regular shifts post MOTO GP last month? How many hours have we clocked up to date over the last 3 months of operational duty? Are we anywhere near 'Independant Patrol Status' yet? Share with the rest of the Northants forum (particularly those in the process of joining/attesting in 2014) what its like to be a Special for Northamptonshire Police 9 months on after starting basic/classroom training! :-)

The time has come to wash my trousers, as I'm sure you know the colour fades rally bad on them. Any tips or products I can buy to stop it happening? Using non bio on a cool wash and slow spin Thanks

First weekend of classroom training this weekend and already I'm doubting wether I can drum in all the sections/acts. How did you all deal with learning it all?

just seen were getting new Sepura radios, anyone had experience with them ?, they don't look as good as the Motorola ones ( by that i mean, not as high tech)
