Afternoon ladies and gents I was just passing by and another question has popped into my head. Now im sure some of you are aware that currently i am sitting in a position where i am waiting to hear back from fhq as to the start date for the next special training course. After the interview and fitness test i recieved a letter a two days later inviting me to see the doctor. Now i sit here and write this nearly two weeks after seeing the doctor and being given the medical approval, i am not sure if i will hear back soon or whether it will be nearer the time. So my question is: Does anybody know if i will hear back soon or will it be closer to the start date? Question…

Hi all im Mac im new to the forum, but have been following it for a while I finally took the plunge and joined up. I was about to submit my application yesterday but gave recruitment a quick call to check on a personal matter only to be told my application would be put on hold until Feb due to a new selection process. Hi there! I'm currently a Special in my home force of Avon and Somerset but I have accepted an offer to come to Northampton Uni in September 2011 to start the foundation degree in policing course. I would be interested to hear from anyone on this site who is on or has completed the course to find out what it's like and if it has helped in terms of career progression etc. I will be hoping to transfer from A & S when I start, the area will be completely new to me so it would be good to hear what's going on in the Northampton area. Is there any likelihood of SCs being issued withBlackberry units? If not on a personal issue basis, a pool of them at eachstation? If it’s a cost per unit thing/excuse, surely this could apply to personal issueairwaves at a good £300 p/u that isn’t good value for money if officers aren’tusing them. I personally don’t see any real need for personal issue units as it would cost toomuch in this day and age, but a pool of operational and in good order unitsshould be a minimum requirement. Bj.

I was on the first intake of the new IL4SC we attested in July, wondered if you are on it now how you are getting on? We are now with tutors on Phase 2, mines going ok, bit of a job if like me you work full time trying to tie in shifts with your tutor but thats life I suppose.

No, this is not the next two seasons of 24. These next 48 hours will define wether i will be well on my way through the application phases of the special constabulary. 9am Monday - Interview at FHQ 10:30 am - Fitness test again at FHQ So far i have wash, dried and pressed my suit. Single creases down trousers and arm sleeves. Polished my shoes, i would have bulled but there is no distinct toe cap. Located my birth certificate and left next to my car keys. Pre programmed my sat nav AND printed out directions from an internet based route locator. Morning all, Has anyone applied for the community protection officer role with Nottingham city council? I applied and have been invited to a fitness test....... . The invite states I will have to take part in the national beep test over 20 meters and achive level 5 or more. I found it very strange that they require this. I'm not worried, just shocked lol. How many people on here have a fitness test next week ? i have my interview before my fitness test so also a question to regulars or specials that know HQ, is there changing rooms nearby and does anyone know if the interview area is anywhere near the fitness test ?? many thanks, Ross
