hey everyone, apologies if this has been done already. i have to make my borough choices shortly for the met. i live on the border of two boroughs i would quite like to work in, however i was wondering what people's opinions are on this. i have had a mixed response so far from the people i've asked so i thought i'd ask around here. cheers.

Hey, I am transfering into the Met from West Mids, start date due any day now, and was wondering from any current serving officers down there on how often certain roles come up? I am looking at taking myself towards Firearms or TSG. In West Mids Firearms comes out once every 3 years and OSU(Their TSG) maybe every 2 years. I was aware you could apply to transfer directly onto the TSG but i opted against this idea as i want to work in London and experience the place as a normal bobby befroe specialising. Any Info would be apprecited. Cheers Whit.

Just read on the BBC london website that there are to be lots of cutbacks with station custody officers etc being replaced by civilians also bigger cutbacks planned for 2010/11 I somehow think they might freeze recruiting if this money has to found, not looking too good for us waiting for a course date I won't be counting my chickens on getting in

Hey, Having been trawling these forums like mad for a little while now, eagerly seraching for answers on how my new life in London (only 149 days now) I found a thread that went on about discounts for Police Officers. I think someone then challenged someone else' integrity about claiming stuff as a Bobby but i found the folowing on the Met Website [Discounts & subsidies Finally, being a Metropolitan Police Officer will give you access to a wide range of discounts and special deals with major High Street stores, retail outlets and other organisations nationwide. You can save money on everything from food, clothes, furniture, electrical goods and DIY products to hot…

Hey guys and girls, I am transfering from the West Mids with 4 years service, just passed all the securtity checks and due for my letter of official offer any day now. Basically what i want to know is about the London weighting London allowance pay? How much is it? I have heard so many different things from different people from £2000 to £6000 to even £8000 extra. It would be nice to hear from those of you who actuallywork there rather than others constantly telling me! thank in advance people, Whit

Hello All, I applied for PO role with the Met last November. I got 59%. they offered me PCSO role as an alternative as i needed 60%. I phoned and said i couldnt make the day 2 as offered and for vairous reasons didnt take it any further. As time passed i regretted not taking up the offer. Currently I am long haul cabin crew. I arrived home this morning I found a letter with the same offer to go onto the day 2 for PCSO at least 4 months has passed since my last contact with them. Do they just resend out offers or is it a mistake? I am tempted to do it this time with the idea of then going for PO with them after a year... Any ideas? Thanks all, Jon.
