Hello all, Does anyone out there know the current shift patterns for Southwark, Lambeth and Croydon? And whether it is likely to change by July 2010? Cheers

Having applied for DDO and PC at the end of March I am finally getting somewhere with both applications, but am now in a dilemma. I had my PC day 2 this Monday and passed everything, and was told that the very earliest available start date would be January (providing I pass vetting and references) as the October and November intakes are now full of former PCSOs who have been waiting 18months. But I could be waiting for 6 months or so. Today I was rung by the DDO team and offered a training date of 26th October. Being unemployed this should be great news, but.... All through the process I have been upfront with both recruitment departments about the other application a…

Hi all, Today I received a letter from the Met (and many of us probably will) saying that they may not be able to offer me a start date until April 2011. The reasons for this are: due to current economic crisis less current police officers resign or retire and the high number of new recruits. They also say that they will write again in December to give more details as they are in the process of scoring my life skills (the life skills questionnaire we had to fill in during the application process) and the score will "determine when you will be offered a start date". Very disappointing, but at least now we know how long the process may take.

Hi guys, I posted a topic a long time ago when I was just starting the recruitment process, but now i'm at the vetting and references stage I just need a quick bit of info to help with my accomodation decisions. I think given my chosen borough list Paddington section house will be the ideal one for me, but I want to know a couple of things:- Is there any car parking spaces at the section house? Where is the actual flat block, is it the one on top of the nick (in this photo: http://static.panoramio.com/photos/original/3167525.jpg ?) And does anyone know what facilities there are/aren't, i.e. gym, wifi, tv aerials etc. I have searched and haven't managed to find any …

Hi, Has anyone done a Met Access Course? Just wondering if it's worth doing? Also if it's directed at people who's English isn't their first language? As I get the impression it's for people of other origins. Any guidance much appreciated. Thanks

Hi all, just wondering if anyone knows if the met are still using satellite stations for the training or if it is all done at Hendon now?? Also wondered if there is anyone on here that has recently started, did most people get there choice of borough and if the "priority" boroughs are still being given priority I put down Barking and Dagenham so just wondering what the chances are of me actually getting it!! Hi All, I have heard that the entry to the Met has gone down to 55% for PC? I got 58% a while ago and have been offered recently my day 2 as a PCSO...so I am thinking is it worth worth ringing up and asking if i can go straight for the PC role? What are your thoughts? Thanks all, J

Well I got my start date, which obviously I am very pleased about. However its for the 12th February so I have got 4 more months of West Mids to put up with!!!! No it aint that bad. I have been posted to my third choice which is Haringey, which in all honesty i am a little dissapointed about but am still raring to go. Was just wondering if someone with some local knowledge could advise me on which section housing is best suited to working Haringey? Tubes/Trains/busses whatever? Much appreciated, Whit

Just thought i'd see who is left from this years and last years recruitment drive who are waiting/expecting a 2010 start date. Where are you in the process? My references have been sent out today via email (I noticed someone else who asked so asked myself :shhh: ) Not sure really what to expect as a start date. Hendon warned me off for Spring....lol. Murph.

Can anyone tell me how often people get their first choice borough? I completed my preferences form a couple of months back but having done more research in the meantime I've changed my mind about the order I put them in and would rather get posted to what was my third choice. Does the order you put your preferences in actually affect where you're posted or am I just as likely to be put in my third choice as my first? Just wondering whether its worth looking into changing my preferences, if this is even possible. Also does anyone know when you're told where you're going to be posted?

Hi guys Anyone else on here from the above? Have you heard any news yet? I was told on the day we would have to wait for a start date of around April/May/June (If successful!). Apparently they are very behind on the paperwork and still on Junes Day 2 people. I did fail my hearing on the day but last Thursday, I went to the Empress Buiding in West Brompton to redo it all. The Dr actually said he didn't know why I was there, as there was no problems with my hearing at all! So Im back online. Still a long wait tho.

I recieved a missed call / message today from Henden. The person asked me to call back on Monday as she wan'ts to get a move on with my file. She asked me to confirm It is O.K to send off my references. This to me sounds great as it shows that they have got straight on to my case since my appeal success. The problem is, I have obviously seen and heard that there is a massive wait for start dates in the Met. My company I am working for is currently and continuously going through redundency's. Although i am pretty safe at the moment and I have taken a new position, I am worried that if I agree with the reference to be sent to my boss and have to waite until next year for …
