Am I right in thinking that one you have passed days 1 and 2 and vetting (and on the proviso that your references are good - once they ever get sent out!) then you will all eventually be assigned a start date? Either this year or next or whenever?!

I recently attended my Day 1 on the 17th July, would be nice to here back from anyone else on my day? Advice for anyone attending is just relax and be yourself, it's really not as scary as you think. The worse part is waiting for your results!!! Phil

Thought I'd share some info with those of you in the same position as me - Just spoke to my case officer and was told that September intake is now closed and the next available intakes are October, November and January 2010. Was also told that there is a massive backlog and they are still working on sending out references for those candidates that had their day 2 in April. They have been shortstaffed and their computer system is not working very efficiently so I imagine they are quite stressed over there but they were very nice to me when I spoke to them. Apparently, a load of PCSOs who applied last year have only just been given authorisation to join the Met by their …

I got my results back today for my day 1, unfortunately didn't pass because i got a D in one of my Race & Diversity tests. However i actually got above the required rate for everytihng including Race & Diversity and got 5 B's & 1 A in the other tests for R & D. Do you reckon it will be worth appealing as i done so well on everything apart form that 1 D???? Thanks Luke

Hi Anyone live in London but has to commute, but cannot get section housing.... Follow the link - this room nice, all inclusive bills, cleaner twice a week and is only 110 perweek - also includes internet! Great if your just staying in Hendon for 5 weeks training or longer if you want till you find a more suited place with other training PC. http://www.gumtree.com/london/07/41748807.html Trust me, when you have to do the amount of studying, travel and maintain your fitness, it better to live closer.

Just an update really. I just got off the phone to vetting and they have not yet been able to log my appeal. They are so swamped in work that the likes of me and others like me are on the back burner as such. I'm now not sure if i should be happy or more peed off. Whilst speaking to my vetting officer I tried to get a little bit more info from him regarding my refusal, basically trying to judge how serious my case is lookd upon. He actually admitted that he had recommended a pass however the supervisor judged it differently. He said that in a way it is in the individuals view of the checks as much as a set standard. That actually worries me that two people who are tra…
