Hi All I'm a bit worried. I will be joining the MET and relocating from Merseyside to London. Until I sell my Car, I am going to have to take it to London with me. I am planning on going into Section housing but is there car parks there? If not.. can anyone think of any suggestions as what I can do? Cheeeeers Leroy

I know I'm probably being impatient but had my Day 1 on the 29th of may and was wondering if anyone from that day has had their results back yet? at the A/C they said we would hear on friday the 12th june, and if succesful day 2 would be on the 29th june. Eventhough my heart tells me I've probably failed, but would love to know for sure. Cheers, Jay

When (or if) we go to the satellite sites, do we still do 08:00 - 16:00 or do we move onto shift hours? Or do we only move onto shift hours when we've finished training and have passed out? ta

I am looking at getting the train from the South-East into Victoria and from there travelling on the tubes to work. I was wondering if anyone knows how easy it is to get to certain boroughs/stations from here. Looking at the map I will probably choose: Lambeth Southwark Westminster Kensington and Chelsea Wandsworth I would prefer to work in Lambeth as I want to throw myself in the deep end, but is it easy to get to the stations from the tube network etc. Any information, or directions towards more information about anything related would be great. Thanks.

Hi here's another question. Is there any possiblity on attending a working shift or ride along within the met. I am just at the beginning of my application and would love to get an idea of what policeing is about. Not that it will sway me from wanting to join but it would be a great insight. Does anyone know if this can be arranged and if so how would i go about finding out. Thanks again, Rob.

I have noticed Police Medics a few times in recent months, mainly at incidents where TSG were deployed. What is the process for becoming a police medic, is it a particularly competitive post and what, if any, is their role outside of TSG operations. Any information much appreciated.

Hi guys, As a brief intro i've been a special for about 2 1/2 years and finally decided to take the leap and apply to be a PC with the Met, I attended the 1st April event and form went in at the end of last month, i'm just about to return my CASA form and apparently i'm 6 weeks from hearing the results of the papersift, but i'm confident heh! I live a million miles away on the other side of the country so my question is about the section housing, i've heard a ton of rumours about the prices and standard of living but never anything definite, and the Met website doesn't seem to have any info on it. I'm wondering if anyone has a ballpark figure on monthly cost, and if an…

So, Im in the process of trying to work out what I would need to relocate to London. This really needs someone who has recently joined and has blagged a section house room, disregard any initial costs getting to London. 1. Any deposit required for section house room ? 2. How is it paid - direct from wages, DD from bank or other ? 3. Travel costs prior to warrent card issue. If anyone has a rough ball park figure to hand that would be fab. If anything needs clearing up, please ask. kfanx
