hi, i've already applied. but although i have been on this forum for a while, i havnt used it properly. i posted in the general recruitment section, but im reposting here , i got an answer to my question, but i'm just wanting to be sure. im going to be applying to the london met, RIGHT now i do not have a full drivers licence. i was told this shouldnt be a problem, but i just want to be absolutly positive as im going to be making a few sacrifices in applying and would rather be sure first. so is it ok to apply without a drivers licence? do they recruit people who arent drivers? obviously im working towards it, but i dont want to apply then feel theres huge pressure to …

I know that Met officers are offered free travel on railways.Does anyone know if there is a way of finding out the exact area the free travel covers,I think it's 70 miles radius but is that calculated from the outer boundary of London or from some other point? Also, does the free travel include traveling on the new speedlink trains in Kent?I'd be very grateful of any advise since I'm in the process of buying a property and want to make sure that I would be able to travel free of cost. By the way I am currently waiting for the vetting to be completed which is such fun as many of you know...

Bit of a Random question but... Does anybody know where the Met stand on supporting their employees on raising money for charity. Im doing the Royal Parks London Half Marathon in October and they encourage you to get your employer to donate. Is there anywhere in particular I have to ask if I wanted to get the Met to support the charity I am running for?? Im still in PCSO training at the moment so as im not at my borough yet im not sure who to ask?? Cheers Guys!

Hey all, I know I'm probably being impatient but had my Day 1 on the 29th of may and was wondering if anyone from that day has had their results back yet? at the A/C they said we would hear on friday the 12th june, and if succesful day 2 would be on the 29th june. Eventhough my heart tells me I've probably failed, but would love to know for sure. Cheers, Jay

I have my day 2 in a few weeks and will need to stay in London the night before as I probably can't commute to Hendon in time / don't want to risk being late. Can anyone recommend a hotel that is fairly near to Hendon, reasonably priced, comfy, secure etc. Thank you.

I saw mine in the London Metro but does anyone know of anywhere else they advertise for those who do not take the tube every morning? Thanks very much to anyone who can help. R

Evening guys, Hope everybody is well. I am really hoping somebody on here will be able to help put my mind at ease. Obviously im interested in joining the Police Service, i recently posted a topic on here to ask for advise regarding Public Order Section 5 and was given some great advise, but hey im back for some more. In September 2007 i was issed (whilst out drunk) with a Fixed penalty notice of £80 for argueing and swearing etc in the street. This was a heated argument with my ex girlfriend which obviously got a bit too loud. I was not taken to the Police Station or arrested but was issued this fine and sent home. I paid the fine and thought nothing of it. It is …

Hi I had my day 1 on the 1st April and I'm quietly confident that i will pass - (with everything crossed) Just really concerned about my vetting as my parents do not have the cleanest records - bth have been to prison....... Does anyone know if this seriously jeopardises the whole procedure? Can you appeal/put forward a case if you are rejected? I would really appreciate any advice Thanks

Hi Guys Just wondered if anyone who was at the Met A/C day on June 2nd has had their results yet?? It's 3 weeks now and I'm getting more and more anxious! Almost on first name terms with the postman now! Would be good to hear from anyone who was there anyway! Also I'd really appreciate it if anyone could clarify something - I'm know i've failed the maths test because i didn't finish it and went in to a blind panic, think i answered about 10 questions - diabolical :-( I'm getting mixed reports as to whether or not if you fail the maths you then automatically fail the whole day..... is this true??? Thanks
