Hi I just need opinions from asian applicants who have applied and been turned down during the vetting process for no reason or if a silly excuse has been made or need stories from asian applicants who have been turned down. I went through the whole process from the test, interview, fitness tests, etc and haven't been treated well by some staff and eventually towards the end, a silly excuse was made and was told i haven't been successful. Has anyone had a similar experience? And please, dont comment if you have a different opinion by saying Lancashire police arent racist. I am the victim. Not Lancashire police.

Hi, I start my Specials training at Hutton on 14th Jan and was wondering if anybody who has completed their training recently could answer a couple of questions I have? 1: Do we get the uniform on the first weekend? If so, will it just be the first Saturday when we're in our own clothes and then the uniform after that? 2: Assuming everything goes well - when it comes to the attestation: is it at Hutton? Is it on a weekend or a weekday? Are family invited? 3: Again, assuming everything goes well - when do we find out where we are based? Thanks, Geoff.

Hi, I'm planning to apply for the Specials recruitment that opens up in two days time, and the only thing that I'm wondering about is the BMI standards. I am 5'6'', weighing 16 stone 11. This brings my BMI out at about 37. For reference, for the last 7 weeks I have been going to the gym 4 times a week (push, pull, lower(legs) and conditioning sessions). Prior to commencing this training program I managed 9.0 on the bleep, and have since lost a bit over 0.5 of a stone. So what I am wondering is will the BMI scupper me, despite easily achieving the fitness standards?

From today, West division is offering a ridealong opportunity for interested members of the public to see what it's all about firsthand. participants will be subject to criminal record checks and will be asked to sign documents agreeing to conditions of this, and is currently only open to folk who live in West division. however, if deemed successful, I can't see why it wouldn't be rolled out across the constabulary, but that's just speculation from me there. link to application page have at it, people!

Hi all, first "real" topic. Currently I'm in the process of applying for The Specials, just need to complete my medical as I as still a bit too lardy. However it has been brought to my attention I may run in to a problem that isn't of my making. Where I work currently there have been some issues with other members of staff, and I had to file a report on their behaviour. They know I did this as I declined to report it anonymously because if I had nothing would have been done (Experience taught me this). Now the people who were reported know I'm applying, and through a third party who is usually reliable (and I've known since we were at primary school) I've been infor…

Hi guys, Just a quick thread to see if anyone can enlighten me. I served in the army for 10 years and suffered some high frequency hearing loss after a tour in Afghanistan, This hearing loss does not effect me day to day whilst on duty and i have my radio earpiece in the effected ear again with no issue. I have a very strong desire to become an AFO, but am concerned health services will no allow me to do so. My argument would be that I would not be at any further risk of hearing loss due to officers being issued with hearing protection. Has anyone got any experience or know of a similar situation who could shed some light on my chances. I have researched a company in a…
