http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-surrey-12307745 Burglars who broke into a railway station cafe in Surrey and emptied the till, helped themselves to toast before leaving. British Transport Police officers were called to Oxshott railway station early on Thursday morning after reports of the overnight burglary at Cafe Nesta. They found crumbs, used cutlery and open jars of Nutella chocolate spread and Marmite. Officers said a small amount of cash had also been taken from the till. Police said the thieves also took several packets of crisps, some sweets and a box of chewing gum. Pc Gemma Lee said: "It appears that someone forced entry into the café …

Who or what decides what trains BTP travel on? I've never seen any on my local line, ever. Yet on Friday and Saturday evenings there is quite a bit of rowdiness and people drinking. I've been told by train staff that troublemakers can only be removed from the train at manned stations. Is this the case? With a train line 2.5 hours long with 4 manned stations (down to one at either end in the evening) what can the train staff do where people are causing trouble in the meantime. What duties do train staff have to protect customers from disorderly behaviour?

Bit of a random question. But as you know you are issued with boots, do you have to wear those exact boots?

Mt tutor officer i've been assigned with is on leave for a couple of weeks so Im being paired up with another one for now. Looking forward to it but also a little nervous. What should I really expect ? Just getting used to the radios and PNC etc ?

Morning all, This may sound like an ignorant question to those of you who are in BTP so please forgive me but could you answer me the following: 1. In regards to a PC's pay, is it the same in BTP as it is in H/O forces? Are there certain bonuses/SPP's that officers can earn by working in certain areas? 2. Are there any staff incentives such as free travel etc around the network or is this done on an area by area basis? Thank you in advance

POLICE CEREMONY SHOWS JUST HOW SPECIAL SPECIALS ARE A man from south east London who gives up his free time to police trains and stations in Wandsworth, Lambeth and Southwark was crowned Special Constable of the Year for British Transport Police’s London South Area at a ceremony last week. Special Constable Arif Hamid, from Greenwich, was honoured during the Force’s second annual Special Constabulary Recognition Ceremony at Croydon Town Hall on Friday, 7 January. The evening saw the Force thank its Special Constables for their vital contribution towards policing on the rail network, with six volunteers nominated by fellow police officers, PSCOs and staff for the Specia…

Hi, Was just wondering whether anyone could give me some information into being a special for the BTP in Scotland. Main things i'd like answers to are: 1) Where does the training take place? 2) How long does it take to complete? 3) Is it run through the week or weekends? I've sent my application away for the Specials in Scotland and hopefully I get through, fingers crossed anyway! Any information would be grateful. Thanks

Hello all, I emailed BTP HR with a few transferee questions. One of them was regarding driving - I asked if an officer could transfer his basic driving authorisation to the BTP. I had this response to that question... "BTP Specials do not drive". True or not? Rob.
