How to legally make contact with a suspected victim without harassing the suspected offender?
BennyJimmy * posted a topic in England & Wales
Hello, Firstly I’m not in the police 🙂 My (female) partner settled out of court (civil) with someone at work for sexual and racial harassment (it was very traumatic for her - he had seniority on her and progressed to non-consensual touching when out of sight of others). I understand legally this means nothing is proved or unproved. I’ve learned that this person has turned up at another company - and I can see on the company’s website there are two people who he may be tempted to target (young and foreign, possibly naive to their rights). Is there a way I can check they are ok or make contact with them via a third party? I want to avoid being accused of harassing the accused. The concern being he may be up to something but they may be oblivious of their rights. Thank you for your help, Ben -
Hi, I’m still in my probation (Met), I had a notepad on my phone with the correct wording for requiring a specimen of breath for drink driving however i’ve somehow lost this. Can anyone please give me the wording required for requiring a specimen and for the arrest? I would appreciate it very much. I haven’t had to conduct a roadside test yet but i’m sure I will soon with everything going back to normal! Thanks very much.

Why would someone steal and then dump the Hotel Choc Mobile?
ChristopherM posted a topic in General Policing Discussions
Watching Hotel Chcolate on C5. They were showing what happened to the stolen Choc Mobile van. It was stolen from their factory in a well organised and targeted theft, then dumped and burt. Very strange as why would they orgnaise to steal it and then dump it, were they expecting to find it full of cash!? Secondly, I hope the security guard got the sack! -
Quick Q - does someone have an email contact for someone at uniform stores at Cambridge HQ? Picked up my new kit but there’s a few errors and I’m working straight through their phone hours tomorrow. TIA!

Serious GBH in home - Job for Detective Inspector's?
Reader12 * posted a topic in General Policing Discussions
Hi. I am proofreading a novel and have a few questions. The author has stated that 2 Detective Inspectors liase with the family in the hospital after serious GBH and briefly question the victim's girlfriend in one scene. Would two Detective Inspectors investigate this? Or would it be one detective alone? Or some other rank of officer or a mixture? Would they be wearing plain clothes? Sorry for all the questions. Just want to make sure I get this right :) Any help is appreciated! -
Right, I'm going to put this out there because it really baffled me during a s.23 drugs stop on a vehicle. Neg result on the search, however a tobacco tin containing hundreds of fizzy drink can ring pulls was located (the bit that opens the cans) stashed in the vehicle. I know what they can be used for with shopping trollies, however are there any other nefarious uses for these seemingly useless bits of tin?

Hello everyone My name is Alex. I'm one of the MA games design student in London college of communication . The brief I currently working on is a collaborative project, which means I have to work with others to produce a playable game(or interactive art work). I want to make a game showing one aspect of police work. I could be really simple. So I'm here to looking for people from police community to coming out inspiration and discussing ideas. If anyone was interested, please reply on this one . I'm more than happy to contact with you in a more direct way ( E-mail, facebook, or face to face meeting) . I'll be appreciated.
