Although this is about Libya, I think it's worthy of it's own thread as it's about a specific event that may have just occurred. If it's as reported then it's rather bizarre as they were taking the diplomat to the rebels (who've now supposedly captured them) anyway.

A 24-year-old man who pleaded guilty to murder and other crimes in a violent stabbing rampage in New York City last winter was sentenced today to 200 years in prison during a hearing in which he hurled epithets at one of his victims and was told by the judge that he was a 'sociopath'. Maksim Gelman, born in Ukraine, pleaded guilty in November in Brooklyn to murder and other charges in the spree in February 2011, which included stabbing his stepfather and two others to death, fatally running down a pedestrian, stealing a car and attacking a subway passenger. Today, he was sentenced to the maximum sentence for each of 13 counts; some of the sentences will run consecutively…

I've always said the E-petition site is pointless. Even on this forum I've mentioned it a couple of times. And I'd still not use it. The e-petitions system was set up by the coalition last summer to make it easier for the public to make representations. When more than 100,000 signatures have been gathered, the House's Backbench Business Committee is notified and has the power to timetable a parliament…

Although under investigation, we all need breaks during the shift, even though i probably work through mine in paperwork, and haven't had time to have a break on the last few shifts, even though it wasn't busy. Nobody ever thanks you for it either. Also would be interesting to know wether a first responder was on call as well. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-highlands-islands-11673344An ambulance technician chose not to respond to a 999 call about a woman having what proved to be a fatal heart attack 800 yards from his depot in Moray because he was on a break. The Scottish Ambulance Service (SAS) said the emergency in Tomintoul was instead answered b…
