This story says something about the world we live in today: Councillors in south-west Ireland have backed a plan to relax the drink-drive limits for some isolated constituents. Personally, I think the proposal is just plain folly. Full story: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-21143199

In the past, I worked for an organisation that only ever promoted "Yes" people or appointed them to senior positions. As a consequence, these "Yes" people became promoted beyond their capabilities / competencies. Do you know any similar situations?

Note: I've removed most of the images because they're a bit, well weird really. Personally I thought you couldn't consent to GBH or ABH, I also think it's an irrational and inhuman thing to do.

A Bulgarian politician today survived an extraordinary assassination attempt when a man stormed the stage and held a gun to his head as he was giving a speech. Fortunately for Ahmed Dogan, leader of the Movement for Rights and Freedoms, the weapon misfired giving him time to react and hit the would-be assassins hand out of the way. Before he can attempt a second shot the unidentified suspect is tackled to the ground by security guards and delegates attending the conference in Sofia. Scroll down for video Bulgarian politician Ahmed Dogan looks at the gunman as he holds a gun at his head and misfires A 25-year-old man, pictured with a bloodied face after being ta…

Not sure if anyone's seen this programme but its worth viewing. Teenagers who are at risk of serious offending go to prisons in America and basically get scared by aggressive, slightly mad looking inmates with horror stories of what time inside is like. These youths get broken down psychologically and the hard headness and attitude disappears. The correction officers don't pull any punches and the results if to be believed seem to work. Wonder if there's any intervention programmes like this in UK? Doubt anyone would want to visit Wormword scrubs or Have a cosy chat with people doing 20 years for violent crimes. Think it was on Discovery.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-oxfordshire-21059681 Yet another group of sick individuals in the news today. Continually raping young girls and branding them as their own property. I don't understand how people's conscience and moral compass allow them to do this. How should these men be charged?
