I didn't really think this needed to go in News, despite the fact that the police are in the video. However mods, feel free to chuck it where you like! http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-leicestershire-22599596 No seatbelt for the child, no car seat and he's smoking to top it all off. I hope Leicestershire Police gives him a visit. If he's prepared to act like that in front of am international news organisation, what does he act like behind closed doors?

Back in 2008, a sage police officer posted: I am sure he was right...then. Intriguingly, however, the decision by the Bank of England to re-issue the current set of notes without a single woman adorning them has set off a certain degree of upset within the UK's female community, with many now urging peeps to deface them as an act of political protest. I shall be interested to see if the police remain quite so aloof if this takes off... Jane

The UK is becoming a more peaceful place with rates of violent crime and murder falling more rapidly in the past decade any other Western European country, researchers say. Murders were down from 1.99 per 100,000 people in 2003, to only one per 100,000 people in 2012, according to the UK Peace Index, a report compiled by the Sydney-based Institute for Economics and Peace. The violent crime rate overall was down by a quarter in the same time period, from 1,255 crimes per 100,000 people, to just 933. The encouraging figures come as a separate study by Cardiff University suggests that the number of people hospitalised in violent incidents was down by 14 per cent in 2012…

Apologies on my phone, not strictly Police related however think it deserves a space on the news page. Thoughts are with everyone involved at this difficult time. Article: The incident happened on the A337 Brockenhurst to Lyndhurst road at its junction with New Park at 9.35am. The driver of the ambulance - a female paramedic - and an elderly male patient travelling in the rear of the vehicle died at the scene. A male crew member and a male relative of the patient, who were both in the back of the ambulance, suffered serious injuries. The crew member was airlifted to Southampton General Hospital and the patient's relative was taken by ambulance. A recovery vehicle a…

I was hoping there'd be a thread on this already but as there's not the mighty task of creating it has fallen to me! (Hoping it's in the right section?!) For those of you that don't follow Football here's a summary of what happened yesterday during the Chelsea Vs. Liverpool game. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/22250458 What could be considered an adequate punishment for this guy? I was listening to BBC 606 straight after the game yesterday and there were some really interesting points made. Some of the stand out ones for me were focused on how if you bit someone in anger whilst at work you'd probably lose your job for gross misconduct and how this isn't the first…
