RIP to the two people killed. Completely tragic. Though on the other hand, as someone who's lost a friend this year in the same way this might seem a little extreme, but things like this do make me quite annoyed. I feel sorry for the train driver for he/she has to live with the image of two going under and realise that this couldn't have been prevented even though they'll be blaming themselves, the friends who have to deal with losing a close mate and thinking they could have done something to prevent this and the families of the deceased who now have to deal with the fact their kids aren't coming home again. That's my personal view on it anyway. Not a nice subject :n…

A very lengthy piece but an interesting read non the less. Opinions? From online abuse to fire bombs thrown at mosques, there has been a spike in anti-Muslim attacks. While many incidents are not reported to the police, groups such as the Tell Mama project paint a worrying picture of rising Islamophobia and violence A worker takes calls at the Tell Mama project. Cambridge Grand Arcade: Shoppers can save by 'illegal' parking The fine for parking illegally can be cheaper than paying to park Some shoppers in Cambridge are finding it cheaper to park illegally in the city centre and pay a fine than to use an official car park, it is claimed. The cost of parking in the Grand Arcade shopping centre on Saturdays, over five hours, costs £26 from 0900 to 1700. Parking fines are £50, but can be reduced by half if paid within 14 days, making it cheaper for shoppers by £1. Councillor Tim Ward, of Cambridge City Council, said he was "surprised" at the revelation. The annual turnover generated by parking fees is worth about £9m to the ci…

What is Happenning in Istanbul? 01/06/2013 tarihinde yayımlandıby sumandef 2547 Votes To my friends who live outside of Turkey: I am writing to let you know what is going on in Istanbul for the last five days. I personally have to write this because most of the media sources are shut down by the government and the word of mouth and the internet are the only ways left for us to explain ourselves and call for help and support. Four days ago a group of people most of whom did not belong to any specific organization or ideology got together in Istanbul’s Gezi Park. Among them there were many of my friends and students. Their reason was simple: To prev…

Thats what Swiss entrepreneur Andras Birrer thought when he decided to rent out fake police cars to people who travel a lot or go away on long holidays."

How long before we see a rise in building site related deaths...
