http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/home-news/bnp-leader-nick-griffin-declared-bankrupt-9037099.html He may consider himself free from financial worries currently, but if he has to engage the services of another law firm to represent him in the future who is going to take him on knowing his previous history of not paying for such services?

So today I attended a memorial service to remember three fallen comrades who died 30 years ago at almost precisely this time of day. I never met the three officers as I joined shortly after this incident, however, I did serve with a number of the officers from that shift during my service. I remain very firm friends with at least one of these officers and we regularly go out for a drink together. It's very sad to think these three officers paraded for duty in the same way we've all done, served their community and the just shortly before the end of their shift they responded to an emergency call about a man in the sea in difficulty. The officers, without hesitation, p…

Alright for some innit! Whilst they will argue they have no control of any pay rise awarded as it's now set by the IPS after the expenses scandal, MPs are set to receive 11% this week (if it does go ahead, we will know for sure later this week). Whilst the rest of the country faces further cuts over the next year or two to those we've already suffered, or others pegged to 1% if they're lucky enough to get that if they haven't lost their jobs (austerity dear fellow don't you know, we're all in this together), we are talking of MPs salary rising 11% to £74,000 from 2015. Despite the fact MPs face paying into their own pension funds (oh my heart bleeds, I've been doing tha…

To me this is just a cynical attempt to play on some suckers sympathy and get them to pay off her loan for her. A TV and DVD for a 3 year old - she wants her bumps read! Whilst I think the interest charged by these companies is obscene, she knew exactly what she was doing - the look on her face says it all

http://www.newstatesman.com/politics/2013/12/camerons-internet-filter-goes-far-beyond-porn-and-was-always-plan This article has got my blood boiling. I'm fundamentally opposed to internet filtering anyway, but when domestic abuse helplines, sexual health websites and gay rights sites are being blocked or at least are able to be blocked, things have gone too far. I cannot think of a single legitimate reason for even giving the option for these sites to be blocked. Just think of all the domestic abusers who can happily block their partners from getting help and support. This is ridiculous.

The story below is from the BBC website Man died in north London blaze during firefighters' strike A man has died in a blaze in north London that broke out as firefighters took strike action over pensions. Crews were called to a ground-floor flat in Oakfield Road, Hornsey, just before 22:00 GMT on Saturday. About a dozen firefighters tackled the blaze for more than an hour before they found the man's body. The London Fire Brigade said: "Based on early investigations into this death, it is not believed that the strike made any difference to the outcome." 'Failed disastrously' Fire Brigades Union (FBU) members walked out for four hours at 18:00 GMT. It was the secon…
