I was reading this on the Guardian website: When American universities began offering Moocs – free online courses, open to all – people signed up in their droves. From lessons on artificial intelligence to classes on vegetarianism, millions of people across the world began learning. As the New York Times declared 2012 the year of the Mooc, the Open University announced a partnership with 11 (now 29) British universities. But fast-forward one year and doubts about the courses are lingering. In Britain only 8% of people surveyed had even heard of Moocs, according to a Guardian and Open University study. While a quarter of people reported feeling under pressure to get add…

Somehow I find this hard to believe... The SAS are trying to cover up the fact they murdered a member of our country's own royal family and one of the most loved public figures of the 20th century on government orders by... handing someone £500 in a brown envelope? What absolute nonsense.

Another article about the dangers of cycling: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2538377/Why-drivers-want-kill-Death-threats-Near-misses-A-run-Clarkson-Radio-2-host-scared-cyclist-JEREMY-VINE-terrors-faces-road.html My question is should cyclists be more accountable? ATM I dont think they are. Perhaps a cycling licence or number plate might help.

Isn't it odd. Before Christmas the coalition was crowing about a bouncing economy, we were doing well, things were on the up, more in jobs than ever before (despite the likelihood of them all being low-paid/low-skilled and part time etc etc). So how come today the need for another £25bn savings? Which is it? Tough times ahead, or a bouncing economy? Quite aside from £12bn from the welfare budget and those most in need, why is it the most vulnerable that are paying the most? What about the tax loopholes? What about the overseas aid that can be cut back? Remember when the nurses, cleaners, dustmen, office workers and shelf stackers caused the last recession? No. Nor me.…

A train passenger was caught trying to have sex with the on-board drinks trolley after downing a cocktail of alcohol and legal highs. Andrew Davidson attempted the bizarre coupling while shouting "I want to kiss you" at the trolley. Perth Sheriff Court heard on Tuesday that Davidson admitted behaving in a threatening or abusive manner on the Aberdeen to Glasgow service. The 25-year-old was seen humping the trolley by horrified passengers after his behaviour frightened the rail crew member so much that she ran off. Davidson foisted himself upon the trolley after the staff member became so scared that she ran from the train when it stopped. She ran off leaving Davidson…
