What would you change about your role, procedures legislation kit etc. In my most recent role there was the offence of obstructing an authorized officer, which is great until you realize that the most common way is refusing name and address, the offence was punishable by summons only- which requires name and address to send the summons to so firstly I'd like to see it made an arrestable offence. I'd also like to see legislation changed so public facing enforcement officers can carry full PPE meaning no police "babysitters" are needed when doing inspections, seizures etc it would utimatly free up police and allow local authority officers to work truly independently as the …

Hi All, Does anyone have a list of pre-reads at all that I can start getting into. As someone who doesn't really know much, I'd really like to get my head into the game before I start at the end of next month. Cheers

Quite a light hearted one, as I am on cloud nine atm! I've got my first duty coming up... do any of you hardened vets have some tips on how to survive a first night? I've got a checklist of things to do prior to the event (such as make sure my radio is fully charged haha!). What do you do? o/

As you may of seen on news channels there was more disturbing scenes on the streets of London so the question is should this country use water cannons???? There is plenty of videos on YouTube now showing the imature What will it take for this country to be allowed to use them? Do officers have to die first before its even considered. Boris was all for them so why is the silly witch ( you can make you own judgement as to whom im talking of) so against them??? Also I have the upmost respect for the officers standing there doing their duty whist having to put up with everything that was being thrown at them. Here's a few lines from the sky news story. "Riot police …

Hi, I am unable to attend this meeting and I was wondering the following: - Will Fast Track/Direct Entry enable Special Constables to join as Regular Constables? (Not straight to Inspector/Superintendent but just as a regular PC) - If yes, what's the eligibility and how to apply? Anybody who's been to the meeting in Wakefield on 24th or today in London - please, share the knowledge

I'm wondering whether to join the police federation. I've asked my colleagues and they seem to be completely divided, so I'd love to hear your opinions....

So I came across this on the Internet and wondered if all the talk (or less talk shall I say) be true? Stop the introduction of Compulsory Severance for Police Officers in the UK On Weds 28th the Chiefs of police are going to vote yes or no to Compulsory Severance within the police force, this basically means that if voted in favour of Compulsory Severance, a Police Officer will no longer have security of their job, and can be sacked. The reason for this drastic action is because of police force budgets, and the fact that this government is so heavily cutting back that the Chiefs of forces don't know where to save money anymore other than sacking officers. This is a v…

Evenin' all! It appears there is plenty of space for political woe and management bashing and that there should also be a space for celebrating and commending the hard work all of you put in day in day out to keep Joe Bloggs safe and sound! So hopefully for anyone wishing to share anything positive then this can be your space. A chance to remind people why we joined the job.. Ta.

Hey all, I'm wondering if anyone has a workable MG11? I've got a PDF one that came with a rather large prosecution manual but this can't be typed on and the word version of the one I have is now outdated or has been altered since. I've sent a couple of emails off to colleagues but I've not heard anything. When we do them on the systems at work it's a;l generated for us but in a format hat can't be saved and then edited. Long shot and a stab in the dark but someone may have one! Thanks in advance! B

Hey guys, just a quick question relating to special's and filling out a P46. I've just found myself a new job and prior to this I was special for around 6 months (Still am and still planning to be - I also wasn't working before this). I went to sign my contract for my employer yesterday and they also asked me to fill out a P46. I filled this out to the best of my knowledge, however after going home and contemplating it for a day, feel that I might have filled it in wrong. It relates to the section about previous taxable work.. I had to choose one of the following.. A - This is my first job since last 6th April and I have not been receiving taxable job seeker's allowan…
