Has there been a time when you've seen a criminal put so much effort and dedication into pulling off a crime that you've been genuinely impressed, and think that if they put all that effort into a legitimate job they would be extremely successful.

Have to say I've seen a lot of videos and seen first hand a lot of questionable police incidents but this may be the worst I've seen. I try to cut officers in these videos some slack but this is hard to watch, Met officers seem terrified to use appropriate force, I honestly worry for future of London.

After two years of preparation and finally I submitted my application on early November 2021, it was very quick process I got the invitation for fitness and PSET right after beginning of December and passed both , a week later passed assessment centre and final interview, I'd consider myself very lucky that I got interviewed by senior rank (superintendent). the whole recruitment process was very positive and I enjoyed very much , just one step closer to my dream. There's been a lot of talk about the policing at the coronation which I won't go into again, but in the discussion I saw someone post on another board that they work in the police and they are told in training to never apologize. For example if there's a stop search where nothing is found, they are warned they must not say sorry for it. I'm interested in why that is. Do police officers think that saying sorry is an admission that they did something wrong? In which case I could see why you would never apologize for a negative stop search as long as the procedure has been done by the book. You wouldn't see what there is to apologize for. Our MH liaison teams finally seem to be backing us and advising us to push back against hospital requests to section their patients. R vs SESSAY is quoted as the legal precedent not to do so. The typical request comes when a person with MH is shouting and having to be restrained, we are called and expected to take over and 136 them instead of the hospital using S2 MHA. Has anyone had any experience with this? How unruly have you allowed a patient to become before you feel the need to step in? My understanding id that the coroners in the north easy have backed the police in matters where the patient has come to harm subsequently.

From what I have read on the subject, which admittedly is not a huge amount, American and European forces seem to have a much more authoritarian approach to policing. "Do as I say because I said so" basically. Do you ever see UK forces moving more towards this model and what effects, good and bad, would it have on policing?

Without going into too much detail about ongoing Criminal investigations I remember reading some time ago many Met officers were threatening to hand their firearms ticket in due to certain events. If this still something being seriously considered? I do really think the Police need to push hard for better treatment whether it be stikes or soft quitting. Whilst the met have no handled themselves in glory is seems them and other forces never even get a fair hearing when it comes to their treatment. I used taser multiple occasions and the scrutiny on one particular job was so incredibly ridiculous I felt about handing my ticket it.

Of the complaints you've seen made against officers for things like stop and search, use of force, and arrests, how many are justified or at least partly justified (maybe the officer is in the right but you can see why the complaint was made) compared to completely unjustified complaints with no grounds whatsoever? What happens to an officer if they carry out an unreasonable search, complaint is made, and the complaint is upheld/the person reviewing the BWV agrees the grounds for that search were not there. I'm assuming it can depend on a few things, such as if it's the first such incident for that officer, was it blatantly unreasonable or just pushing the boundaries…

When a person is detained under section 23 MDA, can you go through their phone and read their text messages, if you believe its a 'burner' phone for drug dealing, prior to any arrest? Many thanks J
