I am about to buy the H2 Protec Police Positive Lock Hand Cuff holder from ebay brand new. Question .. Are these any standard issue handcuff holder for any force? If anyone has this product , can they give me a review on it . Thanks . P.S NO RUDE COMMENTS

i was in self defence last week and after the session we got on to discussing restraints with the facilitator. A cop was recounting times he's had to cuff one suspect then hold on to another when single crewed and thusly, risk losing control of the situation whereas another cop revealed he actually has a pair of bracelets in his belt for such an occasion. The facilitator was saying how when he was in the army he was issued with plasticuffs and found them really effective and pretty handy as a short term solution to restraint situations such as the one posed. A friend of a friend has just started training with City specials this weekend. My friend (who has been a special in county force for a number of years), met up with the COLP recruit today and learned to his surprise that they had been issued with warrant cards (day 1 of training). The recruits apparently won't be attested for around another month. My friend saw the item, and is sure it wasn't an ID card and was definitely a warrant card. Can this possibly be right? Anyone heard of this happening with other forces??

All to often we get a call from someone who declines their details. Or, when we follow them up as a witness, they say they "don't want to get involved" and refuse to give a statement. Often these people key witnesses and I've lost count of the number of people who don't get charged with stuff because of these unwilling witnesses. What bemuses me is that by calling us they are getting themselves invovled. why did they bother ringing us in the first place? What do they want us to do if nobody is going to give us a statement? A bit of advice needed here please i just bought this car and was insured for 14 days . i cancelled the insurance last week hoping to SORN the car and put it on the drive way but i kept forgetting.Yesterday, the police came to the house and met my cousin they told him the car is not taxed and he told them it was meant to be put in the drive way and that he will tell me to do that when i come back .My brother tried to contact me but went into voice mail. the policeman said even if the car is declared sorn, it must not be on the public road and he does not even think the car is insured and if he comes back tomorrow and the car is still there, he will have to take the car …

ok, so there are several topics about the R v Turnbull and ADVOKATE as guidance for eyewitnesses. However I'm struggling (or not as good at searches as I thought I was) to find out the exact details of this case. My results seem to be cluttered with how we use the case as a study as opposed to the actual details. Currently within the application process for specaial constable. 1 - Completed Application form - Dec 2010 2- Received confirmation application successful and PIRT Tests Feb 2010 3 - Interview Passed - April 2010 - Now been advised that, 2 more steps stand, Physical and Medical. Q - What does the Medical Consist of and how long does it last? Q2 - Once all phases complete, I know training is around 23 Days over Days or Weekends, however is this full day 9am to 5pm or how many hours per day? Q3 - Once training of 23 days complete, does that mean you are able to go on patrol and start Policing? Q4 - Do Special Constables go on patrol alone whilst in probation? Q5 …

It was mentioned to me the other day that if you wanted to join as a special, your employer is legally obliged to allow you to. I also remember reading that if there was a crisis - for example a bomb went off - and you were required; your employer has to let you leave work to attend the incident. Stab in the dark here - but is there any requirement for your employer to allow you to attend training dates without booking it off as holiday? :D I work Saturday mornings 9.30-12 - and my employer despite being generally very supportive has decided that I've now used up all my holiday for the year. Driving down an A road to work a fire truck on blues coming from behind I'm driving less then 70 flighty at this point. A guy to my left just sitting so I speed up slightly to move around at the way as I come around the bend a speed van that's not police is there as I looked at the fire truck then down I noticed I was going closer to 80 for those few seconds so I slow down as I really don't speed. Don't want points you see. So I'm guessing I'm stuffed annoyed really I let the fire truck distract me from watching the speedo for a few seconds now just watching for my well earned 3 points lol
