General Policing Discussions

While covering the PNC in training recently, I'm sure the trainer mentioned that German vehicles are listed on there. Did I hear her right? Interesting if this is correct. Anyone enlighten me?

I've noticed now, a lot of 60/11 plated cars have lights on all the time, like these horrible rubbishy LEDs. Most look like cheap christmas trees with a smattering of LED lights plastered all over the front. Hello all, Ive just signed up (finally) to this forum, but have spent a lot of time reading on here so I thought I might pick your brains over something ... On Friday night I was on patrol around the clubs. We came across an illegal hot dog vendor who had already been told to leave the area twice and told to bin the food then go (which he returned from the bin and carried on cooking it several minutes later). We did the same thing (made him ditch the food including the box of pre-cooked sausages in a dirty cardboard box under the trolley) then go which I think he did as he had nothing left to sell. Ill keep this short, basically I want to get more confident in writing up a statement. im happy doing it "My way" as in a first pass ,add to it, then do the proper one (keeping all notes of course) what i do want to try is.. can anyone show me any good videos (youtube) etc. that perhaps i can watch and "say what I see" and just knock up a few quick statements.

As i began writing a response to a topic today it occoured to me that my response was about to be totally impartial, and refrained from doing it. Those of us who are recognised as police officers in forums, should we be letting our impartiality slip? An interesting thought i think....Discuss

If you could change anything about the police..would would it be??? anything? pay..powers..equipment..deployment..uniform..what would you change???!

At my medical for the specials the nurse told me I had a rather low BMI, and that I should consider putting weight and muscle mass on. My problem is I have a fairly high metabolic rate, and so calories burn off instead of being stored, and I seem to struggle with building muscles. I can't afford gym membership so that is out of the question, but I was wondering if anyone else has had similar problems and if they found a solution. Many thanks in advance, Anthony

what sort of Police Officer do you see yourself as? are you the one who is always soft spoken and could talk the Tasmanian devil into calming down, or are you action first and sort things out after? do you know what you are going to do as soon as you are on scene? or takes your time and considers all factors? do you stick to all the rules? or do you take each situation as they come? I have been described as a maverick, and I think that is my police style. I will use the law, but wilfully.

just a question to you specials that work with or are attached to neighbourhood / local policing teams. in north wales weve all been moved over to NPT from response as part of force restructuring but it seems nobody has figured out exactly what our role profile should be. what do you cover as part of your role?
