Hello All, I have done a quick search and didn't see an answer to my question. I'm sure this has been asked many times and I probably didn't search the right words. What are the terms if we are injured on duty? Like many on here it is very important for me to be able to pay my way should I get injured on duty. From what I gather we have two things to rely on (quote me if I'm wrong). 1) Sick pay will cover our full salary for a longer period? 2) We can get some sort of Insurance? While I can work from home if needed, I would like some reassurance that if I cannot type or see that I should be ok. Any advice is welcomed

I promise it's not a generic one! Arriva buses offer Met Officers free travel on their buses nationwide (i.e. not just in London, although it does seem like the SE makes up most of the country! ) I find it hard to believe that The Met has negotiated free travel for their officers anywhere in the country with this one operator - so I wondered if it was a national offer by Arriva to offer free travel to police officers? Does anyone know?

Tried logging on to a police computer yesterday and was unsuccessful 3 times. It is now asking me for a passcode in order to reset my security questions. Does anyone know the Quest helpdesk telephone number? - Not sure if Quest are specific to Lincolnshire Police only but any help on how to get back on would be appreciated. Aside from the usual RT FPN offence codes, I believe there may be offence codes for the assist / aiding etc... These are not on my FPN sheet but a bit of googling found this: Aiding, abetting, counselling or procuring an offence - Offences as coded, but with the end 0 changed to 2 Causing or permitting an offence to occur - Offences as coded, but with the end 0 changed to 4 Inciting an offence - Offences as coded, but with the end 0 changed to 6 Anyone care to clarify?

Hello Everyone, I know there is already a couple of topics running on 101 however without me scrawling through all of them, I wondered if members would be kind enough to help: Which forces have completly changed over to the 101 number (ie. scrapped there old non-emergency number so 101 is the only number that the force can be contacted on)? I am aware that notts and derby have scrapped there old number but I would like to have an up to date list as to what other forces can be contacted on! Having completed a recent festive-event duty, I noticed that some of the PC's and PCSO's were wearing reindeer antlers on their helmets/hats; without sounding like a Scrooge, I was just wondering to what extent do you think we should join in on the festivities. Obviously, this is good idea in terms of having a good reaction/reputation with the community but there surely must be a line, although I don't necessarily think that this is. I think that the obvious example of going over the line in this respect is the PC's last year who were sledging with their riot-shields.

On a recent trip to Scotland on business I had some spare time to do some family research and through public records I was able to identify the locations of burials and cemeteries in Dumfries, Edinburgh and Glasgow. The first cemetery I visited was in Dumfries and happened to be the same place the same place that the famous Scottish Bard Rabbie Burns is buried, St. Michael's churchyard Dumfries, I was very surprised as I walked in to the cemetery to see a number young men and girls drinking alcohol and behaving rowdy, the churchyard had a number of cans and empty bottles around the grounds and a lot of rubbish sadly, I have to say that I eventually located the grave I wa…

This is quite a sad video in some ways. I have no idea about the context or background, but I doubt it was enjoyable for anyone involved. Has anyone had any experiences like this? I presume the police were present simply to prevent a breach of the peace?

I was wondering which parking laws are enforceable by constables. I know that generally yellow lines are enforceable only by council CEOs, but what about pedestrian crossing zig-zags and school zig-zags? Also, looking at Blackstones, it appears that tickets can be issued for contraventions of traffic regulation orders relating to parking. Surely TROs include yellow lines/loading restrictions etc. so might be enforceable by police?

Hi to my police colleagues, I'm still doing my training and fairly new to the MSC and on passing my ELS training and seeing the photos of casualties suffering from chemical burns and hearing that the problem is increasing in the UK and that we are fairly exposed to this threat! I was wondering if we are allowed to purchase calcium gel to protect us and the public it's fairly cheap and lasts a year on this site http://www.first-rescue.co.uk/burns/hf-antidote-gel-calcium-gluconate-25g Unless there are rules about outside equipment which I know there is!! It's that wonderfully festive season, where good will to all is spread freely through the land........yeah right! Crazy season is upon us!! Obviously as specials, I'm guessing none of us will be working christmas day, however in the build up to chirstmas most of us will be putting in a few hours. Hi bit anal - it is a pain to take me boots off just to put me standard issue hi viz yellow standard issue trousers. Does anybody know of leggings with zips/stubs at the bottom so I dont have spend time on the back seat of the Panda?.... regards
