On what grounds would/can a nightclub doorperson stop and search someone before entry into a nightclub?

I have a query relating to obstruction of police. Anyone have any succinct info regarding cases? I have the below scenario also. This definitely bears no resemblance whatsoever to any event I may have seen in the last 24-48 hours and any resemblance identified is completely coincidental. Picture the scene: There's a shout out on the door staff radio that there's been an assault outside Club X, you arrive and door staff say two males were scrapping but have both ran off down an alleyway. Right bear with me on this one.... You stop a car and conduct a s23 search on the driver and its a positive result. You then arrest for possesion. 1) your s23 powers are now "spent" so you use s32 2) if you then take the vehicle to the police station to do a morevcomplete search you then need s18 authority- you can then no longer continue to use s32? Basically at what point in this situation does your s32 powers cease and s18 powers become needed......?! Cheers Vince.

Hi I recently received an Adult Restorative Disposal (ARDs) in the Thames Valley Police Area. It was for an offence I denied but it was positioned as the best way of dealing with it, which I accepted. The offence was shop lifting, I denied it as I unknowingly mis-scanned 2 items at the self service tills. I accepted I should have been more careful and that I left the shop without paying for the items, but it was not deliberate. Looking for a little bit of direction. I have a neighbour who’s new boyfriend (in his 40’s just to help paint the picture) has a Subaru impreza estate, quite an old one (W reg) The issue is that it has a ridiculously load exhaust fitted. I have seen/ heard many Subaru’s with modded exhaust but please believe me, this sounds like a straight through with an amplifier on the end. The issue I have is the fact that every time he leaves or returns home he sits with the engine running for up to 15 minutes each time. Hi All, this is my first post, joined to read about something else but now I have I thought i'd pose this question which has bugged me for years... Lets presume I bought a car which had 'Tracker' fitted, fairly recently by the previous owner, but I had decided not to continue the subscription. The unit is still in the car as it was before (ie still working). Now, if my car got stolen, and it was reported to the police there would be a case opened and the 'Tracker' company could easily solve it, as if they would have done if I'd paid the subscription, but they likely wouldn't as I hadn't. A topic came up in training the other day in relation to use of force, and in specific the area of PACE you get this right. Now, for drugs searches the power for searching is held within the act itself, but I cannot find anywhere within that act that you may use force to conduct this search if necessary. Can anyone find specific case law or legislation that allows the use of force specifically for searching under s23? I'm not looking for any sneaky backdoors like arresting for obstruct police. Help?

What offence would be commited by youths under the age of 18 if they threw fireworks at moving cars, causing them to swerve? I am aware of section 80 of the Explosives Act 1875 but is there more legislation in relation to throwing them at a vehicle? Thanks for the help!

Hi back in June I was issued with an Harrassment Notice, however at the time I was genuinely shocked. My friend and I fell out and she had been phoning me and harassing me so I text her some angry message, which I didn't think would amount to more as it was in retaliation. She decided to contact the police despite the fact I hadn't contacted her for a few days and i was Issued. What are your opinions on the marker sprays sold by niton999? As far as I am aware they are completely legal to own and use (along as reasonable for is used etc). I used one during an assault in early August, no comeback on me and the suspect was identified and is appearing before crown court on January. However, during a later car accident a canister was seized from my car by a traffic officer as he suspected it of being a a section 5 (I think) firearm mentioning noxious gasses. As of yet it has still not been returned, despite a uniformed PC and numerous CiD officers advising it is completely legal. Your thoughts/advice/experience? Thanks in advance

Consider this: Buyer goes onto a website like Craigslist or Gumtree. He sees a phone that on sale for £140. He gets in contact with the seller, and agrees to send £140 via online bank transfer. The seller then states that it will be sent via normal first class delivery (so it can't be tracked etc) 5 days later, the buyer hasn't received anything, and the seller is not responding via phone or email anymore.
