Hi I hope someone or anyone can help. My child is 11 & has been having bullying problems in school, in particular with a boy in her class. He's tripped her up and pushed her down stairs serveral times and the school has been great in helping to sort it and for the past week and a bit things had been settling down until today. She came home very upset and said this boy came up behind her and hit her with some books he had in his hands, he then proceeded to be absuive throughout the day threatening her that he was going to have a gang of girls to "f... her up" and that his older sister was going to do so too. We were in the van last night talking about cyclists with no lights, and there was some confusion on the FPNs you can give. Some people said it was a £30 fine for each light, and some said £30 regardless of how many lights not on the bike. i.e. if the cyclist didn't have a front and back light, can you give 2 £30 fines or just the one? I thought it was just the one £30 FPN for both lights, but thought it worth checking. Not sure if it should be here or in Scenario City, Mods, please feel free to move if this sin't the right section.

Andy walks into HMV with a £10 gift card that he got for xmas intending to redeem it. According to the gift card it is within date etc. He tries to buy a DVD worth £9.99 but he is told that due to the chain being in administration they will not accept the gift card. An argument ensues with Andy insisting that he is a creditor to the company and that the company owes him goods to the value of £10. The argument goes around in circles for several minutes and Andy genuinely feels aggrieved and that he is in the right. Getting nowhere he slams the gift card on the counter, grabs the DVD and walks out of the shop. Has Andy committed an offence?

Hi Can anyone tell me what constitutes harrassment? I have been with my partner for 5 years. He was formerly married and had two children from that relationship. One daughter 17 lives with us, one of 12 lives with her mother. After they split the children lived with her until her relationship with the eldest broke down so badly, and she chose to live with us. This seems to have done little for her mental state and she has constantly made our lives a misery by sending endless texts, mostly to my partner and his daughter, which are vile and upsetting. Hi all Hopefully an easy one, but could someone clarify the difference between S18 (Entry and search after arrest) and S32 (Search upon arrest)? I've just been going over my notes and have managed to confuse myself! Thanks. Is it really just a simple as S32 is allowing you to search a person when you arrest them, and the premises where they were/are at the time of arrest, and S18 is allowing you to search their home / any place they control after you have arrested them?

Is there an specific offence of driving over a zebra crossing if someone has started to walk but still on the other side of the road or is waiting to walk across said zebra crossing? Or would you go down contravening a road signal or careless driving etc

I know drinking in the street is not illegal but if requested to do so in a controlled zone, it can be confiscated and disposed of by Police. However on this occasion it is not a controlled drinking zone. I noticed this on Saturday night is all, I come across a group of youths, some are 18 and others are younger and those of age were drinking alcohol in the street...what is the stand here? The minors weren't drinking at the time but appeared to be intoxicated. I can't find anything online regarding drinking in the presence of minors except that it is obviously allowed if ordered with a meal for 16+. After attempting to fix a car, and failing my sister's boyfriend are considering pushing the vehicle approximately 1.5 miles along a fairly busy road , main trunk road into a fairly large town and into a housing estate where said boyfriends friend lives (owner of vehilce) . Potentially not a legal issue, if the vehicle was being pushed to a suitable position to be recovered and hence preventing it blocking a public highway. This is an actual scenario that came up a few years ago, that I have just been reminded of and wondered what the legal implications were? Company A goes insolvent. 95% are laid off and a few remain to help with the wind up and selling of assets. Company B buys all the assets including the Server Farm and all the data contained within. Employee A changes all the passwords on the Servers so Company B cannot access the data. Has Employee A committed any criminal offences?

Hi Folks I have been really interested in watching Charles Vietch postings on youtube when he holds up a sign which says "Everything OK". Im a new Special and hate seeing fellow officers getting into an argument with these persons and fiding themselves being ridculed . Please help me on this one. I've recently had a court warning for an appeal against an FPN conviction where the defendant had opted for a hearing, but was convicted in their absence. I'm not clear if it was a paper hearing, or whether the defendant was a no-show. Anyone know what the grounds for appeal are likely to be in this sort of scenario, considering it appears that it'll be heard at a magistrate's court, rather than a crown? The betting man in me reckons it's likely to be a procedural challenge (service was incorrect, perhaps) rather than a test of the evidence. I suspect the appellant has lawyered up properly, although it'd be nice to end up as caselaw for the definition of 'using a handh…

Hi All, This one has been bugging me for a while now and I see it all the time whilst on duty. Pedal cycles not having any lights on or for that fact any brakes! Which to me seems very dangerous both to the cyclist, pedestrians and other road users. Im just wondering if anybody else has this problem, myself and other officers have been warning the cyclists and advising them to get some lights if they plan on riding at night and some brakes. Unfortunatly, this has been ignored for quite some time now and its very frustrating. Is there any power to seize the cycle, or anything else which can be done? Cheers
