Is this reasonable in your opinion? Yes, for violent and sexual offences. But for minor misdemeanors? If someone steals a bag of crisps at 18 years old, is it really reasonable to hold on to this information past the 5 years, or 10 if you are being fussy if they were cautioned for the offence. Often when we get to the scene of an incident we need to speak to lots of different parties to find out what happened before we can ascertain what happened and who, if any people are, is a suspect. Sometimes offences only become apparent when we stop people and talk to them. I work in a bike shop and have two questions. Most of the bikes we sell are to BS standard with reflectors and such. We sell some custom built bike that are not to BS standard but we sell then as for race use only. For example single speed track bikes. Is this legal? Another is mail order bikes. Are we ok sending them out in a box that the customer has to build? Or do we have to build them up and stick them in a really big box as a complete bike? Hi everyone, got a quick question for you all. What legislation does driving without a valid MOT come under, and what is the penalty for such an offence? How would you deal as the officer attending? I've tried searching on here but the forum doesn't allow three letter words to be searched (helpful!). So far I've considered, HORT/1 if driver of the vehicle believes he may have an MOT certificate but this needs substantiating, and then report for summons should the HORT/1 check come back as negative, or if the driver admits he has an expired MOT, straight forward report for summons. Would appreciate your thoughts.

well here goes , is it legal to cover up the number plates on my van while it is staioneiry and no driver or passenger is on board and the engine is switched off. The reason I ask is I work out of a small shop with a single yellow line outside, but the Borough I am in has this little car with a u boat perriscope stuck on the roof so as it drives past it snaps away merrily at any vehicles parked on a single yellow line. I only park outside the shop to load or unload the vehicle for a max time of 10 minutes. Thankyou

Just having a look at my Blackstones Guide and it lists the below signs as among those "listed in reg. 10 of the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2002" -Stop sign -give way -keep left/right -no you turn -no entry signs -red ats -double white lines -signs indicating bus or pedal route I was always under the impression that keep left/right, no u-turn and bus lanes are all non-endorsable, but my guide is putting them in the same category of no entry/red ATS etc so looks like it is implying they are endorsable....or have I completely got the wrong end of the stick.

If someone commits an offence and is waiting a court date (how long does this usually take?) while the person is waiting for a court date the person gets arrested for one of the same offence's as before would this offence be put togethor with the other offence's from the first time? 2 counts of..... or would the person need to attend the court twice? Would a fixed penalty be issused on that second occasion if it was only one of the "minor" offence's from the first time? Hope i make sense!

Hello all, I'm unsure if this is the correct place to post this but here goes. I have been hearing quite a bit about these HO/RT1 forms. I understand that they are used in Traffic offences (Hence the name, 'Home Office/Road Traffic 1'). But, What exactly are they? What are they used for? When and for what can I issue one? Also, as I'm on a traffic theme. If I see someone using a mobile phone whilst driving (Reg 110 Construction and Use ) Would I report for process? And the same question but in regards to not wearing 'Seatbelts'. All answers on the topic will be greatly apprciated. Regards, Bravo Echo November
