Hello all I live in a typical mining village in which vehicular access wasn't a priority when the house was built (1912). There is no road to the front, only a back alley which is only just wide enough to allow two cars to pass. I am regularly being blocked in / out of my drive by various people. I am on good terms with several of them, and we regularly knock on each other's doors when needs be. Apparently, Section 8 of Misuse of Drugs Act 1971 states that it is an offence for "a person, being the occupier or concerned in the management of any premises to knowingly permit or suffer the production, supply, preparation or smoking of drugs" [my emphasis]. So - if you allow people to produce, supply, prepare or smoke drugs on your premises than an offence is committed. But what about if someone prepares injectable drugs off the premises and then brings them along to your place to use? (Maybe this is technically impossible - I wouldn't know.) If a person is attempting to gain access to a motor vehicle while drunk and they intend to drive once they have gained access has an offence been committed?

A friend of mine gave a policeman a black eye, the policeman sent her chocolates on valentines. Ok the incident was not recorded as the policeman used common sence, She went through her back gate to lock up her bike, the policeman however was following reports of a break in and suspicious activities, as she went to walk to her door a black shadow crept up on her, being from New York she punched it. Hi all, my first post so I apologize for any nievity on my part. My question is about groups of youths snowballing passing cars in very bad driving/weather conditions. Is an offence committed as the intent is there by the youths to intentionally throw the snowballs, or is it that an accident would have to result in a snowball being thrown before an offence is committed? I do uderstand that this youth activity is and can be credited as antisocial and it is dangerous but I was wondering if any other offence is comitted by them snowballing cars in such bad conditions. In layman's terms this has been explained as Section 4 = Though the Door What if the vehicle has not been involved in an RTC? Is it your reasonable grounds to open the door with your Altbergs does this bear any relation to section 5 or 6

Managed to get myself confused now - am I right in thinking that FPNs cannot be issued to those under 18? (not to be confused with PNDs which I know cannot be issued to under 18s, except in a handful of pilot areas) If so, what do you do when dealing with drivers who are 17 and hold either a provisional or full licence? Process/report/summons them?

I was wondering what are the legal issues around computer controlled cars? Would a computer or robot driver need a licence?

It has come to my attention that when applying for information held on persons by the PNC, there is a section which holds a record of when somebody has been arrested and 'no further action' was taken. I was wondering why this information is held by the police? Surely if there was NFA taken, there was not enough evidence to caution/Warn or a strong enough case to take the incident to court. If someone is never proven, nor provides admittance to an offence, how can the arrest be stored under a non-conviction? This is a case inwhich an arrest can have an influence on somebodys life in the future. Although I am confident that non-convictions won't be exposed on a CRB check…

Hi, I am just wondering if There is anything under English law to state that cars displaying for sale signs cannot be parked on a public road/ car park. The reason I ask is because next to where I live there is an enclosed car sales lot, but everyday the owner parks most of his cars on the public car park/road which is restricting access for residents to park. I have reported this to the council as on numerous occasions I have been told I cannot park in a certain space as they are using it for valeting and for their business gain. Is this purely a council matter or is there any section of law that would correspond to this? TIA PP

Just been reading up on the Dangerous Dogs Act 1991. Although I've not have to act action using it, I quite regularly hear on the radio that other officers have been sent to deal with incidents involving dogs and so wanted to know what I would do. I know that the owner or the person in charge of a dog (at the time of the offence) is guilty of an offence (under section 3(1)) if they allow a dog of any breed to be ‘dangerously out of control10 in a public place’ and that the offence is aggravated if the dog injures a person whilst out of control. hello all, i have discovered that someone i was in dispute with and going through an ajudication forged my signature on a piece of evidence they sent to the adjudicator. luckily, i have pretty firm evidence and will be able to prove this to the adjudicator. however, i am also very disturbed by it all and i know this person is capable of doing it again and again. losing the adjucation will not be much of loss from him and i have a feeling he will continue to behave in this sort of way and possibly even get away with it with other people. i know he committed a crime (fraud by false representation) though am not sure how the police will react and where i would stand. i …
