is it illegal to park on a private driveway without permission and what could be done about it?

Apologies if this has been discussed on the forum already, but I'm just revising s.25 Theft Act 1968 and needed to clarify something with regards to the offence of going equipped. I have been told by one trainer that, for the purposes of this act, "theft" includes taking a conveyance without the owner's consent but not taking a pedal cycle. However, a few days later I was told by another trainer that "going equipped" can apply to cycle theft. My Blackstone's tells me that the Theft Act does not treat a cycle as conveyance (hence TWOC doesn't apply) but that there is a separate clause within the act referring explicitly to cycle theft. Out and about the other day I saw an elderly gentleman riding on a mobility scooter in the road - right up against the kerb. Oddly, it had a number plate on the back... being a curious sort of fellow I ran the number through the MDT - wondering what the plate related to.... It was actually the mobility scooter's own VRM. Are police able to collect and retain DNA samples for all non nationals residing in the UK? or does this violate Article 8 of the ECHR? am I right in saying the person must have commited a crime or volunteered to provide DNA in order for police to retain DNA.

Hey, i turn 17 next week and for my birthday i was going to be given a good qaulity multi tool like a leatherman skeletool or something alike. I do alot of outdoor sports like rock climibing, kayaking, mountain biking, absailing hiking and camping. Only thing is the law, im not totally sure if id be allowed one or not with me being 17. Ofcourse i would only have it on me when doing the above sports where im not really in towns. But i dont want to get one then get arrested for breaking the law. Thanks

Uniformed security guards in shopping centres or external areas of large publicly accessible office sites. If they arrest under 'any person' powers can they carry out a D.I.E. search like we can? I did a quick look on PNLD but it only goes on about police powers of arrest and search (understandably)

Hi I wondered if anyone knows the answer to this: I have a private plate and and purchased a new car. All the docs have been submitted to the DVLA as required. Today I did a vehicle check on the DVLA website for my car using the old reg number which came up as vehicle unknown. I then did a check using the private plate and the vehicle showed up as the newly purchased car. So I assume that if the police checked the registration of my car as it is at the moment, none of my documentation would be valid as the new docs have not yet been sent to me. I.E tax disc insurance etc. Am I therefore driving illegally?

During training I saw an offence on one of our FPN books of having a "two tone horn". To what does this refer? Multiple, simultaneous tones? Or two alternating tones on the horn?

Please help me out i was pictured NEXT to school markings NOT ON THEM with the road only big enough for a car to pass down it and have been given a penalty charge as was told that they cover half of the road, i would not mind so much but if this is the case how come i was placed with a fine but no one else got a fine. There is no where to stop to collect children and see this as very harsh i cant find anything on the net to back up there claims can you help me?

What criteria needs to be met in order to issue an FPN for undue obstruction? Sorry if this has been covered before I am using the iPhone so it's difficult to use the search... Er thinking about it I'm not sure if I actually mean unnecessary obstruction...

Hello all, There was something on Road Wars the other day where a bloke was driving his wife's car on his third party extension, but because his wife's policy expired he was done for driving without insurance, despite having the relevant extension on his car insurance policy. How does this work legally then? I thought that if that bloke hit something/someone, the insurance company would pay up therefore meaning no insurance issue and while it was in his "use" parked (so if he went shopping for example) he was still covered. Hi everyone, Not sure if you will be able to answer my question because it's more a DVLA matter but it's worth a try :) In the first 2 years of passing your driving test if you acquire 6 points you have your licence revoked, correct? So if someone acquired 6 points in the first 2 years, their licence is revoked they then have to re-take their test. They re-take their test, pass first time and get their licence back. Are the 6 points still on their licence after they re-take their test? What will then happen if the driver acquires another 3 points a year after re-taking their test. Will these simply get put onto the licence meaning they have 9 points (3 more and they…
