Hi everyone,I have a question regarding rules/legislation on 'totting up'. The other day a friend told me this story...... He already had 9 points on his licence and he says that he was stopped for doing 32 in a 30 zone. The officer who stopped him said that he was not allowed to drive his car any further and that he was 'banned' from that instant ! He had to get a relative to come out to him and collect the car,to take it home. Now.....I thought that when you reached 12 points under totting up,that you were still entitled to drive,pending a court hearing ?? I've never heard of being 'banned' right there at the road side for this offence. Has the law /rules change…

Many time I see the 16 year old mark when talking about offences by pepole below 18 years old. What is the differance between youger than 16 and older than 16? Is this the same for all the offences?

Who do the Police serve ? Well I started a thread on awareness of of Police Officers Legal capcity, and after a few posts that thread has been shut down, barred, locked although no answer to the question was forthcoming. Now why do some people feel threatened by establishing the simple truth ? Why do they panic and seek to silence others ? To all the good Police out there, don't stop. The British people support & are behind your efforts. I tell you what I am concerned about, is the fact that we, in Britain, may be living a life in which we condition the British peoples Police Officers to be being OK with Electrocuting other humans via the use of Tasers. This to me is perverse and not a sign of a progressive western society. In fact I anticipate, in my humble capacity as a human, an uptake in numbers of fellow humans who may suffer a sort of PTSD as a result of feeling pressured into having to "electrocute" their fellow human beings. Hello everyone, my question is as follows, What is your actual legal capcity/status as an acting Police Officer ? Do you know ? Also what is the legal capacity of the corporation of whom you may wish to claim , you, represent ? Please forgive my ignorance here..couples having sex in a public place...but out of sight of the public at night (eg a layby)...is this a crime? Or is this something that officers should turn a blind eye too?

After a report for summons has been made what criteria is considered, and by who, when deciding whether to go ahead with a summons? Is there a general, pubilcly available, 'summonsing standard'? If there is enough evidence and it's recorded correctly can reports for summons just be ignored just because something is 'too minor' etc? The reason I was wondering is what if I was to report someone for something very very minor - some may say a silly or anachronistic law? In my current line of work at the job centre plus officers i have a lot of customer interaction as i am apart of the security team, however not so long ago one of our more colorful clients starts to get a bit agressive with the staff and as we steped forward to interviene he took out his mobile and started taking photos of myself and other members on my team. As he was about to leave he was taken to one side and asked to delete the snaps of us which i belived we was well in our right to do so, however he refused and started being and awkward bugger and so the situation escalated so as to keep the peace we sent him on his way, with the snaps of us still on his phone. Does anybody know what the legislation is with regards to the police having access to an individual's email account when investigating an offence? Would this fall under RIPA? For example, the police believe somebody is grooming children and have details of an email address that the suspect is using - could they be given access to this?

If a person has been banned from a shop and then enters and commits a theft, as I understand it, he/she is technically guilty of burglary as they have trespassed and committed a theft. However, I was told by a police officer that the CPS would never attempt a burglary charge in these circumstances. Does anyone know of any cases where there has been a charge of burglary brought in such circumstances, particularly any that has been successful?

Hope you can help, I went to attend an immigration hearing with two friends, I was driving my car and went to rear entrance of the court thinking there maybe disabled parking there, The security man told me to reverse out and go round to the front of the court and security will drop special bollards to let me in there is intercom on entrance he then told me how to get to front of court, the time is nearing ten oclock when we were due in court, so I put my car in reverse and hit the car behind. Just wondering if someone refuses to sign a 27 notice to leave does it mean it is invalid or can it still be issued?? Had a incident where i thought someone might not sign it once ( they did in the end).
