I've noticed that with the 3 deaths a few weeks back where people died after being arrested, there still doesn't seem to be any statement of what the cause of death was. Can someone explain to me what is the normal process fro post-mortems and inquests? Am I right in thinking that the post-mortem would normally decide on a clinical cause of death (lets say 'death was caused by suffocation'), then the inquest would decide whether that death was accidental, suicide or unlawful (with a criminal court coming in somewhere along there if murder is suspected). Do they always do pretty much the same load of tests, or do they do a standard lot then depending on results from the…

Recently did a quick course on psu techniques and a scenerio was given that we were supposed to be blocking a road because someone was being treated for a heart attack. Pedestrian wanted to go down the street but we had been told that no one can go down. Now, if it were a crime scene we have common law protect crime scene. If its a rtc then we have s35 and s37 RTA. I know we have tact comms to ask the person not to go but if they just want to what do we have to stop them?

England riots: What is the impact of a criminal record? As the courts deal with some of the hundreds of people charged in connection with the riots, igniting a row over whether the sentences being handed out are too harsh, the BBC asks what is the real cost of a criminal conviction? When college student Nicolas Robinson set foot in a Lidl supermarket as he walked home from his girlfriend's house, he probably didn't think his actions would land him behind bars. But stealing a £3.50 case of bottled water during the riots in Brixton has cost the 23-year-old dearly. Robinson, of Borough, south-east London, is now serving six months in jail. Justice campaigners, along wi…

Hi Guys, I was traveling down the M1 the other day when a MOP in a Mercedes C Class used some Amber and White Dash Board Lights (The same as the police dash board led lights, but not blue) to hurry me up in getting out his way. Is there anything in the law to say they are illegal? Do you need a licence fort hem? I found the lights on you tube below: Thanks, Anthony

im wondering how far the principal of if someone leaves their property on your property you can retain it and charge for its return , like car clamping and why if there is a difference where this comes from ? if my car is clamped on a pub car park, then any arguments over if it was signed, if i entered a contract etc would be for me to follow in to the civil courts and the police would be very reluctant to get involved, but lets say i left my rolex watch in their bathroom , could then charge me a fee to get it back or would that be an offense, or if my pedigree dog got out and wandered in to someones garden, could they legal charge me a 500 pounds release fee and the po…

Was watching emmerdale earlier and it got me and the missus talking (got a lot to answer for that emmerdale). How serious would the offence have to be before you shopped your son/daughter to the police. Would you shop for theft shop, a burg, robbery, TFMV/TOMV, assault, rape or murder. We know what is morally right, but could you do it. Ive not decided on the seriousness yet, but will get back to you when decided.

I have been in countless interviews, and have had suspects shake their heads, stick the middle fingers up at us, and even stand up and get angry. At no point during these interviews did any of the officers I was with say ""For the benefit of the tape Mr Bloggs is now clenching his fist" Is it still the done thing?

It is a horrible day here with heavy rain and thick cloud leading to one being very bored indeed. As I am sure many others are also bored I thought of starting a thread to elicit some responses and maybe a small debate if there is one to be had. In Cinemas there are often warnings that your own food & drink cannot be taken into the viewing, though you can take in food/drink purchased off the cinema. How enforceable is this under competition law? Can you legitimately be refused admittance to the viewing if you refuse to give up your can of pop? What about bag searches? Hope the weather improves wherever you are... :clapping:
