A hypothetical. If a regular Sergeant had a disagreement with a Special Inspector who would win the argument? Similarly, between a regular Sergeant and a Special Sergeant I would guess the regular would win the rank battle due to the fact he or she works everyday?

You leave your car on your drive and go to bed. When you wake up in the morning somone has fitted new racing seats, a turbo, racing tyres and a new exaust. Anything they took off your car (The old tyres etc) are stacked on your drive and there is no damage to the car. Has any offence been comitted?

Joe and his new girlfriend are at the local beauty spot getting a little frisky when joe notices some strange lights coming from behind the bush. Joe often carries a knife in the door pocket of his car so gets it then goes to investigate the lights. Upon moving the bush to one side he sees a tall, slim green being exiting what looks like a space ship. Out of fear Joe runs forward and stabs the being several times. The being screams out in pain, runs back to the spaceship and flys off. Luckily all of this had been captured on CCTV. What, if any offenses has Joe committed? Assault? Gbh? Animal abuse?

Okay, here's an odd one, some youths are on a bus, being noisy and one of them decides to play a Cee Lo-Green song by the name of 'F*** You', an old dear is upset by this, is that a breach of S5 Public Order? And this is a thought that crossed my mind, I haven't experienced it or seen it happen.

Scenario: A 14 year old boy (let's call him T) gets given a train set for his birthday by his grandparents, which he duly assembles and keeps in his bedroom. He is very fond of the train set and plays with it regularly. Fast forward six months - T is at home with his family and has a stroppy teenage tantrum, arguing with his father B over a trival matter. B says "I've had enough of your attitude, I'm going to stamp on your trains and smash them up to teach you a lesson!" Discuss the offences committed (if any).

Ok here goes Boy steals money in bits over time from his mum totalling around £1000 but gets found out by mum obviously. What would happen if the mum doesn't want to press charges but wants to teach boy a lesson? Would he get a criminal record for this? Steve

Hi guys, I have a few questions regarding this: I am a wheelchair user, and have never been arrested (and don't plan to be), but i did wonder how it would work. how would you, arrest someone in an electric wheelchair, get them to the station, and then what happens when they're in the cell regarding say, toileting or anything like that thanks for your time Clouds

You are sat in an unmarked car (or somewhere out of sight) and you see a disabled man with a walking stick taking something out of his pocket and in doing so some notes (lets say £40) fall out of his pocket without him noticing and he then carys on walking. You see that a male has seen this happen and go's over and picks up the money and pockets it. Is this theft ? does the male dishonestly appropriates property? obviously you would hope that he would catch up to the disabled man and return the money, but is he committing an offence by not doing so? For the sake of this scenario the male has clearly seen the money fall from the disabled mans pocket. What would you d…

I live in university halls at the moment. We all live in locked Flats which each have a communal kitchen and 10 rooms or so which are locked which only the person living in has the keys to. My friend came back after going home over the xmas holidays to find his door has been broken down and some stuff taken(nothing of high value), bed slept in, toilet with something nasty in - turns out one of his flat mates is an international student, stayed in the halls over xmas, had a new years party during which some of the guests kicked in the door. He's taken it really well and not pressing charges, getting police involved, or even complaining to the university - to which we ar…

A tour guide is leading a group of tourists around a historical part of London, on public roads, looking at old buildings. These tourists have paid to have this tour. While they are being shown around, an inquisitive gentleman attaches himself to the group. He listens, watches, follows and absorbs the information the tour guide is feeding out. The tour guide spots him, and asks him to go away, as he hasn't paid for the tour. The inquisitive gentleman refuses, stating that they are in a public place, and he has every right to follow the group around having not paid. Is he committing any offences?

Heres a situation i've wondered about before... How would you deal with a person/suspect that had a knife glued to there hand. For this example the knife is the classic large kitchen knife from the film psycho Just like this one... The knife is glued to his right hand with the but of the knife near his thumb (in a perfect "stabbing position" so to speak) How would you deal with this in three scenarios... Where the person is going to be arrested but is resisting. Where the person is going to be arrested but in being cam and cooperative. Where the person is not going to be arrested yet, but you have merely come across somone who has a bloody big knife glued to th…

So let's say you're in town with a group of friends celebrating a birthday, when a man comes up to you and orders you to keep it down. He's met with disdain from your friends who've all had a bit to drink - of course, you're above that, and driving anyway. When someone swears, the man claims to be an off-duty police officer and starts quoting laws you've never heard of. Sceptical, you ask him what station he's based at, to which he replies the same station as you're based at. You've never seen him before, so you produce your warrant card and reveal yourself as an ACTUAL off-duty police officer. He claims to have left his own warrant card at home. What's the next ste…

Hey, bit of advice more than anything. I work in a bar, and on new years eve i was working. It seemed as though every drug user in my area turned up. as well as a few dealers that i know of. By the time everyone had a few beers, and was so coked up, they started to forget to wipe the remains from around the nose and of the front of the shirt. Then someone that i am aware of who deals drugs came behind the bar to speak to me. okay start the confusion. he came up to me and said Him:- " DO YOU KNOW WHO I AM!" (thought he was going to punch me) ME:- "Yeh i do mate, what's up" Him:- " oh okay then..... can you look after my coat behind the bar?" Me :- " erm yeh, ok…
