There is a long article on the 'other side' regarding Kent Police refusing to provide officers for the Remembrance Day Parade in Dymchurch in November. Kent say that because of cut backs by HMG of officers and money, they cannot provide officers to close roads etc etc, and say that where there are parades where disorder is not expected, they will not attend. A local Royal British Legion man called Mullard, has accused the police of disrespect for 'our brave service men and woman'. The Federation replied with a very robust statement saying that Mullard's comments are distasteful and that many officers are ex services, and if Mullard has a beef about the decision, then…

Why do we bother? The police (as an institution) criticise members of the public for dialling 999 for inappropriate purposes and also the creeping 'social service' remit that the service now finds itself in. And at the same time some senior officers are pedalling grade I bull such as not saying 'no' to an unreasonable request. Officers who have passed the holistic recruitment process should be capable of using "supportive phrases" without sounding patronising or condescending yet the service thinks this sort of training is necessary. The Police Federation, out of touch as usual, welcome the training.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-23787413 Elected police and crime commissioners should be given the power to hire and fire prison governors and probation chiefs, a think tank has recommended. PCCs are "operating with one arm tied behind their back", according to the right-leaning Policy Exchange. The move would mean cheaper and more effective justice, and better accountability, the think tank said. The Home Office said it would look at new roles where there was potential to save money and improve services. PCCs, who replaced existing police authorities in 41 force areas across England and Wales, apart from London, set force budgets and hire and fire chief constables. '…

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-latin-america-23750289 And there we go again. Police detaining someone without valid excuse and keeping his computer etc - and our friend Keith Vaz demanding the police must explain themselves. One would imagine either intel has been gathered and passed to the minions which are the police to do something on behalf of a government dept. Of course if it goes breasts up then they know nothing. You will note in the article Mr Miranda's terminology "six different agents". Which leaves the police as 'Pawns'. News gets me so damned annoyed these days. Why do they not just wait to see the outcome. As for Mr Miranda perhaps he is just an…

Mark Duggan police shooting: IPCC inquiry finds no evidence of criminality Shooter declined to answer questions orally, instead submitting written answers laterThe official police watchdog investigation into the shooting dead of Mark Duggan by a firearms officer has found no evidence of any criminal offence, in the clearest sign yet that it is set to conclude the killing was lawful, the Guardian has learned. The shooting of Duggan on 4 August 2011 in Tottenham, north London, triggered riots that spread across the capital and to other cities. The second anniversary of his death will be marked by his family on Sunday with a vigil at the spot where he was shot twice by a p…

I don't know how the jury wouldn't know PC Francis was a police officer considering all the publicity surrounding the case but I'm glad that the offender has been caught and convicted. Hopefully a long sentence will now follow.

It's good to see that there will be a new law as from tomorrow I think it is, in an attempt to stop those offending drivers. They are my pet dislike especially on motorways. However, will it be policed well enough, given the way Ms May and co have reduced the number of police. It's a bit like using your mobile phone when you are driving. That's not policed terribly well, and I don't mean that as a critisism of police in general at all. (just for info. to the black rats on this forum).

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-23686277 - can't see this ever happening, it would be 'open-season' for crims knowing they wouldn't go inside. Fines don't work half the time because the majority of crims don't have any money. There is millions owed in fines that will never be collected and HMG admit that there are so many outstanding unpaid fines that they will never catch up in collecting them.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-sussex-23515012 There's a company about to drill for oil. That's what their licence grants them. The protesters are protesting about fracking - which the company don't have a licence for yet, and haven't even applied for. I think it's marvellous that those protester's employers have given them the time off to protest.

Would love to see whether she loses her seat. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-23753750 Cuadrilla representative was interviewed on radio 5 live and was as you would imagine supportive of the police action, however, the emphasis here is: The campaigners said police "charged, shoved and kettled" a group including children, people in wheelchairs, pensioners and Green MP for Brighton Pavilion Caroline Lucas. "This an outrageously aggressive response to a day of principled civil disobedience," said protester Ewa Jasiewicz. "All our actions have safety, dignity and respect at their core. "Cuadrilla and the government were desperate to discredit fracking oppo…
