A hard-up police force is considering closing some of its police stations and asking victims of crime to Skype officers instead in a bid to save money. Bedfordshire Police are under pressure to make £7.5m in financial savings following cutbacks in government funding. And the force's Police and Crime Commissioner Olly Martins has now said they unnecessarily spend £3m-a-year funding under-used police stations. Cost-cutting: Police in Bedfordshire are closing down local stations in a bid to save £7.5million (file photo) The Labour-affiliated PCC has now made the unpopular suggestion of axing some of its stations. Mr Martins says people could get in touch with police…

Children picked up a bomb outside Woodbourne Police Station in west Belfast. It was one of two devices thrown at the back of the station on Monday night, one of which exploded. There are no reports of any injuries. Police said children picked up an unexploded device and brought it to the front of the station. The explosion happened about 22:30 BST and the second bomb was found at about 23:00 BST. It was made safe by the Army. Chief Superintendent George Clarke said the attack was an attempt to kill and maim police officers. "In doing so they were absolutely reckless as to the consequences for local people and as to the consequences for those children," he said. "Th…

When these two violent thugs were jailed, their victims must have felt some sense of relief that they were behind bars and being punished. The pictures here, however, tell a very different story – because they were actually taken in their cell and posted on Facebook so they could boast about their ‘easy life’ inside. Behind the pair a PlayStation 2 can be seen, as well as a television that is showing a music channel. Other pictures appear to show a cell filled with a mini-fridge, sound system, piles of snacks and posters of topless glamour models. 'Easy': Sonny Barker, seen left posing with his cellmate Korrel Kennedy, has been posting pictures of his 'easy' life …

Labour leader Ed Miliband has been hit by at least one egg while out campaigning in south London. A man who had been following Mr Miliband, and a large group of journalists with him, suddenly began throwing eggs at his back. At least one egg hit Mr Miliband and another hit a journalist, in Walworth's East Street market. The Labour leader removed his jacket and carried on the tour as the man was stopped by market security officers. ---------- Twitter is going bananas.

Every day now there seem to be something in the news about those youngsters who have been driven to suicide, and those vile people who use the internet to groom their next victim/s. Recently, when I called a guy in to fix my computer,he was talking to me about another group of people who get great delight in infecting our computers with various viruses and bugs etc. rendering the kit U/S. I wonder why HMG don't tell these people that if they infest those vile people's computers with every bug under the sun, then n.f.a. will be taken against them, (or something like that). That way they will be putting their 'skills' to good use and not bad. Just a thought.

Source: BBC News "We should be reserving our most severe form of punishment for our most serious types of offending"... We are... that's why serial killers and the like get much longer sentences than car theives! It's a bad idea in my view; What's going to stop a theif from entering your home and pinching you tv if they know they'll only get community service?

http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/crime/police-marksman-keeps-job-after-having-sex-on-duty-8758158.html A police marksman who had sex with another man’s wife while on duty avoided the sack because he had control of his loaded gun, even though it was on a holster around his ankles, a police force has ruled. Gwent police said that PC Shaun Jenkins’ gun was never out of his “direct and immediate control” even after he dropped his trousers to have sex while his colleague waited outside in a patrol car. PC Shaun Jenkins was initially given a written warning after a complaint by the woman’s husband. A file sent to the police watchdog and the husband removed any reference…

Looking at Norfolk they are actively trying to recruit transferees including AFO's. No mention of SC's and the large Southern force in the locked thread about SC's achieving AFO status. Read in to it what you will.
