Staffordshire has become the first force to accept V.S, 24 officers have been given the 'go-ahead' to leave and are working their 3 months notice. Most are PC's and Sergeants, with several inspecting ranks, and 1 Superintendent. They receive one months pay for each years service, up to 21 years. One officer has 28 years service and many are middle service officers(no actual figures have been given other than the total number). Staffordshire will not say how many applied but they needed to reduce officer numbers by 50,

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-northern-ireland-23645607 Rioting in NI still going strong I see. Hope those officers are ok, or at least are going to be ok.

From the Daily Fail... Seems like a fairly pro-active idea. Though somewhat unfortunate that its come to this.

I wonder if this is because of the advent of stop and search figures being recorded and measured against other officers in some areas...

Just thought it worth posting the article from The Guardian as this has been developing all day on twitter. After you read the article (click on the link to watch the video as I can't put it in the post) the read the response from Notts police. http://www.theguardian.com/environment/bike-blog/2013/aug/08/nottingham-police-cyclist-video?CMP=twt_gu http://nottspolice.tumblr.com/post/57700296337/statement-in-response-to-guardian-article When all the facts come to light as they have now and we have both sides of the story, it does not seem to me that either the police or the criminal justice system has failed the cyclist. Do you agree? Also, is this yet another exam…

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/politics/10229545/Theresa-May-accused-of-cover-up-over-censored-report.html--- The H.O using National Security as an excuse to hide the real figures. Mrs May got rid of Brodie Clark because he carried out ''her orders'' regarding not checking immigrants, to avoid long queues, and not even checking the ones that arrived on non scheduled flights, she then sacked him and had to pay him huge damages(our money), then installed that ex Chief of Wiltshire Brian Moore, who did sweet FA, except nearly cause a riot in the immigration hall at Heathrow. He left with a 'flea in his ear'. HMG have done nothing to stop illegal immigrants, but boast…

Police are now far better prepared to deal with an outbreak of rioting, the president of the Association of Chief Police Officers claimed on the 2011 riots’ two-year anniversary. The police shooting of Mark Duggan in Tottenham sparked a tidal wave of rioting. Photo: LEWIS WHYLD/PA Sir Hugh Orde said forces were better placed to be "able to nip it in the bud" if unrest threatened to break out again. Constabularies have worked closely with Theresa May, the Home Secretary, to ensure the system was "fit for purpose" in future, he said. Speaking two years after rioting broke out in Tottenham, north London, before spreading to other English cities, he told BBC Radi…

HIGHER levels of policing are making “a real difference” in Grays High Street, it was said this week. Since the formation of the Grays Police Team in February, traders in the High Street and shopping centre say they have noticed a dramatic improvement in the town. Retailers were full of praise for the police when they met at the Grays Town Partnership meeting on Thursday, August 1, and called on the police to keep the dedicated team in place. Keith Evans, manager of Grays Shopping Centre, said: “It’s made a real difference. “Shopkeepers and the public have been telling us they feel far happier coming to Grays now there’s more bobbies on the beat. “The PCSOs are also …

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2381292/Police-wont-hand-stolen-caravan-couple-protect-human-rights-travellers-living-it.html I know this is in the Daily Mail, but they have far more detail on this that other news articles that I could find. Firstly, I think that if the owners were not 'in between' insurance policies then there is a good chance that we wouldn't even be discussing this. But what has happened has happened and this raises some questions. So is it really the fault of the police and are our hands truly tied because of the human rights of the occupants living in a stolen caravan regardless of whether any of the occupants stole it or not and also if …

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/culture/tvandradio/bbc/10232189/Met-Police-investigate-BBC-pay-offs-scandal.html it's about time too. That woman Yana Bennett left her handbag unattended at a do in New York, and someone stole it, she claimed £500 back from the BBC because she said, ''I was on BBC business''. She should have been more careful and been more security minded. BBC Bosses love giving our money away, especially that previous man Thompson, who I believe will have a lot to answer for. http://www.broadcastnow.co.uk/bbc-paid-out-for-bennetts-stolen-handbag/5002870.article
