Sometime ago, Mark Carney from the BoE stated that interest rates would be 'likely' to increase when the unemployment figure for the UK dropped below 7%. I think now, the figure is just a tad below that figure,and yet Mr. Carney stated yesterday that interest rates were not likely to be increased until at least the first quarter of next year. What happened to the 'below 7%' policy all of a sudden. What's more, what happened to the M.P.C. making the decision on the first Thursday of each month, has that gone out of the window too I ask myself. It seems to me that he is moving the goalposts.
