As the Coalition Government's term draws to a conclusion, Sarah Ingram asks officers at all levels how they will vote – and what they expect from a future administration. In exactly a year the public will make their way to polling stations for the General Election. Among them will be tens of thousands of police officers – and their families – who will be casting their vote in the hope that it will provide them with a better future. With the Police Service facing unprecedented reform and officers facing huge changes to their pay and conditions since the last national poll in 2010, PoliceOracle.com asked those at the sharp end what the General Election could mean for …

http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/news/scottish-news/three-trainee-police-officers-face-3510607 "THREE police cadets are facing prosecution after they crept into a fellow cadet’s room and posed for obscene photos as she slept. Two men and a woman, who is believed to have taken the images, sneaked into the bedroom at the police training college at Tulliallan in Fife and set up pictures of a sexual nature with their sleeping colleague. It’s thought the alarm was raised when the victim woke up and senior staff apprehended the group. The trio, who can’t be named for legal reasons, were suspended and have since been reported to the Procurator Fiscal. News of the incident, whic…

http://news.sky.com/story/1257056/skull-cracker-police-catch-michael-wheatley Its a disgrace how many opportunities this individual has been given to escape/abscond from prison. 13 life sentences and he has to serve 8 years. I have no faith on our justice system any more. He would have got a million years in the USA!!!

I'm following the #copsoffcampus hashtag updates on twitter, there seem to be major student protests going on across the country today. Biggest demonstration appears to be in London with large numbers attending, figures of around 3,000 quoted. Huff Post is running a live blog and an explanation of what's going on. http://www.huffingtonpost.co.uk/2013/12/11/copsoffcampus-student-protest-live-blog_n_4424676.html?utm_hp_ref=uk-universities-education&ir=UK+Universities+%26+Education&utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=twitter

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-27224887 Hmm - New PACE Code A? Or maybe even new PACE!? Theresa May was pushing for an even more stringent change to S&S powers than what will be proposed. Surely a more concrete definition of 'reasonable grounds' robs us of a great deal of flexibility? Will be interesting to see what comes out of this.
